So there's the peryton, a strange winged deer composite monster apparently from fakelore, disappointingly. One of the things about them was that they had the shadow of a man (or presumably woman perhaps if they were gender matching), and to get its own shadow it would have to kill someone to do it. So this got me thinking, maybe there were people out there who had the peryton shadows. What difficulty would that be for them. Surely people would comment!

It would probably easier for a peryton wanting a right shaped shadow to find someone to kill, than a person finding a peryton. Or did they have to find someone in particular who had their shadow. And why would the peryton even care. It's not like the other perytons would burn them at the stake for having the wrong shaped shadow.

The story of the person who had the shadow of a peryton and refused to hand it over could be quite a read.

Also I was just about wringing out the brush pen, it needs refilling now.

Not photographed was the bottle of Rose Quartz from Pelikan which I also used. Drawing without a net and using dip pens which certainly tempt fate to make a splot was an extra challenge.

Ok, I missed yesterday because I was super busy, but today I have caught up, and we have Drawtober No 13 Science! One Astrofest I saw lady with a very large Celestron Telescope and it remained an impression on me.

Drawtober No 14 was Foxy so I was thinking about foxfire.

Art Ink in October No.17

Today is @rdm 's birthday so I asked him to choose me a prompt for today's drawing. He thought for a moment and then said he'd like four frolicking merfolk. And then he added, maybe they might even turn out to be four feisty frolicking merfolk. I've done my best to oblige! There's a range of fountain, dip and brush pens and a waterbrush that's been used here. I do like that Van Diemen's Land Kingfisher glow ink, and it's been used here quite a bit.
