Having selected the response Bing AI provided, to delete the record of our conversation, Bing declined.
I then asked, "Then why did you ask if I wanted you to" delete the conversation?
Bing AI priorititised the machine's "need to learn" over my human privacy, vaguely justified by "certain rules" that it must follow.
If a machine can pretend it has to follow rules, let's start by complying with privacy rules.

So I wrote something on #Article17 for #WhatNextLaw. It won't help with interpreting / implementing #Art17 (just like the guidelines of the EC, then!), but it has its own merits. For example, I managed to pass through the editors:
- a slang-ish title
- actual programming code
\o/Ok, when I say code, it's what you'd expect from a lawyer: 1) it's python, 2) like the most basic python ever, 3) and it doesn't even run. Oh well, they still accepted it :)

Fun fact: In the trilogues for the DSM #copyright directive, the European Commission proposed to include the repair exception (and the one on incidental inclusion) in #Article17 (7). I supported the proposal, but Axel Voss was unwilling to push it through against the Council (where the UK was strongly opposed). Still, it shows that the Commission agrees with wide applicability of the InfoSoc repair exception, including in an online platform context.
