This 1920s Art Deco crematorium in Romania served the country's secular minority until it was closed in the 1990s.
During the Romanian Communist party rule, crematoriums became the state-sanctioned funeral method of the Soviet-backed regime (as well as a convenient way to dispose of those who fell out of favour with the party).

Ugh I hate #AI
I just wanted some #artdeco inspirations so I go onto Pinterest and I swear every other result is just AI. The issue is that Art Deco is made with care and intention, people who are telling the story of progress and hope. Newer models somewhat capture this, but I want authentic inspirations. I want art built by people in pursuit of telling an emotional story since I want to be someone who tells emotional stories as well, even if it's in a video game.

Das Haus Atlantis in der Bremer Böttcherstraße. Auch wenn die ideologisch-mythologische Idee dahinter und der Erbauer alles andere als unumstritten sind, es ist ein sehr spannendes und einzigartiges Gebäude des Art déco und des sogenannten Backsteinexpressionismus.

¿Sabían que el edificio donde vivía Carly Shay en la serie de televisión iCarly ni siquiera está en Seattle y en la vida real tiene una historia llena de lujos, famosos y estilo arquitectónico?
Si crecieron viendo este canal de televisión a finales de los años 2000, seguro recuerdan la fachada del Bushwell Plaza, el lugar donde la protagonista grababa su programa de internet junto a sus amigos. En la ficción nos decían que el edificio estaba en Seattle, pero la realidad es que esa fachada pertenece a un rascacielos histórico que está en el centro de Los Ángeles, California, a más de 1500 kilómetros de distancia. El nombre verdadero del inmueble es Edificio Eastern Columbia y se inauguró el 12 de septiembre de 1930 para albergar las oficinas de dos grandes tiendas de ropa de la época.
Para usarlo en la televisión, los diseñadores del show agarraron una foto de la entrada real y le borraron digitalmente la palabra Eastern para poner Bushwell en su lugar, dejando intactos todos los adornos que lo hacen tan llamativo. Este edificio es una de las joyas más importantes del estilo Art Déco en los Estados Unidos, y destaca a kilómetros porque sus paredes exteriores están cubiertas de azulejos de un color azul turquesa brillante y tienen decoraciones hechas con láminas de oro de 14 quilates, coronado todo por un enorme reloj de cuatro caras que da la hora a los automovilistas.
El interior del lugar no se parece en nada a los pasillos con elevadores viejos que salían en la tele, ya que en el año 2006 quitaron las oficinas y armaron 147 departamentos residenciales de súper lujo. Este cambio llamó tanto la atención que el famoso actor Johnny Depp se compró nada menos que 5 penthouses en los pisos más altos, unos espacios que terminaron volviéndose noticia mundial cuando se usaron como fotografías de evidencia dentro de su mediático juicio por difamación en el año 2022.
