#arranging — Public Fediverse posts

I have a birthday coming up. I guess I can hold off and ask for this from one of my family members.

well I thought I had a good idea for wrapping up this arrangement and spent quite a bit of time on this (probably last) section but while it's not bad as its own little bit, it doesn't fit AT ALL with the rest of the piece, harmonically.

File that away to use in some other piece, and now back to scratch...

But I'd better go out for a walk first, haven't been outdoors yet today. And getting hungry.

And I REALLY need to be practicing choral pieces, not doing this writing. Since I also thought my weekend was wide open and now suddenly it's getting very filled up.

Need to figure out how to end this piece I'm arranging. I'm a little stuck. But I feel like I don't want to start a new one until I finish this first (!) one.

Vocals are much more effective when used tastefully. Constant wall-to-wall vocals numb the mind, ultimately becoming less effective. It’s all about good arranging.

I'm appreciating the free wifi on this aircraft, as well as the fact that I'm kinda mashed into my seat and still able to work without contorting my body. Just did a fun arrangement of some music for brass quintet and woodwind quintet for funsies, now going to turn my attention to this big band thing I’ve been meaning to do.

Am I actually starting on this music project I’ve been thinking about for the last five years or so? It won’t be much, but for me to even *start* this is quite something. We’ll see if my ADHD will let me see it through. It is fairly ambitious (for me).

And as I mentioned before about GarageBand: I would have KILLED to have a tool like this when I was in college!

Having gone through classical piano lessons as a kid, my recording workflow was very much centered around recording performances. Seeing Ricky Tinez recklessly moving samples around and chopping them opened another world for me.

Delighted to be working on some #accordion #music #arranging. This time a rarely heard tune from #GuysAndDolls - skipped in the movie. Agog at the chord progressions as I figure them out. Never seen anything like them before. Trying an #accordion arrangement of Money, Money, Money by #ABBA for the first time. Wow! That tune really suits the instrument. Though I’ll want to add some more harmonies to the arrangement for my own playing preferences. Also playing my own arrangement of Speechless from live action movie #Aladdin. Adore how that one runs up and down the keys. Didn’t play for too long - it’s too hot! But happy to manage that much. #squeezebox #Disney #Music #Arranging #MusicArranging

Pleased to manage a little #accordion practice. Here's a very small snippet of my new arrangement of Speechless from Disney's live action #Aladdin #movie. This is from the very opening. Played on my second smaller box, a Weltmeister Perle blue 48 bass piano accordion. #Squeezebox #Disney #MovieMusic #DisneyMusic #Arranging #Weltmeister

Mammoth session updating my #accordion #music #arrangements with new notes from the latest plays. Updated the computer software #SheetMusic versions of Anastasia’s Once Upon A December, Eric Bogle’s No Man’s Land, Aladdin’s Speechless, Despacito and Que Sera Sera. Just off to print out new versions to try another day. #Arranging #MusicTechnology #Squeezebox #Disney #Musicals #EricBogle

More accordion sheet music arranging, starting to lay down the notes for Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. I'll mainly be working out all the extra harmonies and chords on my squeezebox though. This is the first time I've used my compact MIDI USB keyboard with my new Mac laptop.
