Photo taken from our kitchen window. There are 5 or 6 female 'roos, with their young, who spend time in the vicinity of the house. The grazing is easy there as I mow to keep the grass down, and thus let fresh, soft, green shoots grow.

Our view as the dogs and I made our post-sunrise walk along a rural track this morning with the post-rain leaves glistening in the low sun.

A plant that's appearing in large numbers (hundreds) in places on our property where I've never seen them before are Sundew (Drosera sp.), a carnivorous plant.
I suspect that the above average winter rainfall, and the ensuing boggy ground, has encouraged their appearance.
They’ll soon produce a small, pink flower.

This cute Eastern Dwarf Tree Frog (Litoria fallax) was sitting on a rose bush outside the kitchen window earlier today. They didn’t mind me bringing the camera quite close to it, so I got a nice pic.
They’re only about 2 cm (1 inch) long and have to be wary that snakes don't make a snack of them.

As if to confirm that we’ve had a wetter winter than average, I'm beginning to find tens of carnivorous sundew plants growing around the property. More interesting is the fact that they're appearing in places where I’ve not seen them before, and where the ground has remained boggy for a few months. The point being that these plants like wet conditions.

Nearly Spring so the "Early Nancy" (Wurmbea dioica) are starting to appear in our Creek Paddock. The ground is especially wet (and boggy) for this time of year. I even got my vehicle bogged for a time in a place I least expected to fall victim to the wet ground.

It’s a chilly, misty, moisty morning as we descend into winter. The dogs and I walked through the property after sunrise and stopped to take in this view: the trees disappearing in the mist, the wet grasses, the eastern grey kangaroos[1] left-of-centre, and the Australasian swamphens[2] right-of-centre.
