An update about the star #occultation by asteroid #Leona on 13 September was just given at the #ESOP 42 conference in #Armagh: chords were observed successfully from 17 (!) different sites in Spain, and a paper about what was learned will become available early next week! More sites than expected saw the star disappear (e.g. Calar Alto was expected to miss it but didn't), so Leona seems to be bigger than thought - but whether it will cover #Betelgeuse completely in December is still not clear.
