Oh for frick’s sake.
I managed to get through my favorite part, and beat Bane, seeing the game did its autosaving. So I figured, I’ll go back to home screen to let one of these screenshots of my favorite part of this game to upload, and then come back to the game. Only to see the game froze, so I restarted it. Aaaand then the save showed 0%. As if the last few hours never happened.
It did the same last night twice, but I discovered it sooner, so I deleted the save and made sure the game did show the autosave icon as I played.
I am now reinstalling the entire game. I hope this helps… -
Had to jump through a few hoops to get Batman Arkham Asylum running on my Steam Deck, but now it's running great!
I'm very thankful for ProtonDB. It's a wonderful website full of useful community sourced fixes to try. I ended up using Protontricks to install some DLL files and Proton-GE and I got it running at max settings.
Thus begins my Arkham series replay that'll culminate with me finally playing Arkham Knight for the first time.

James Gunn has confirmed "The Batman" director Matt Reeves' Arkham Asylum series will be set in the new DCU, while sequels to "The Batman" and "Joker" are part of the Elseworlds universe. Reeves' series centered around Colin Farrell's Penguin from "The Batman" is apparently part of Elseworlds as well.
