I remember times when convicted felons had to spend their jailtime behind bars and war criminals where delivered to Den Hague.Only a "few" years later, such figures are the leaders of the most powerful nations on earth and behave like #aristocrats and do whatever they want.

I can see your point, but I tend to have a more optimistic view.As the #French Revolution blew away the oligarchs of old (#aristocrats), I think the pendulum of history has reached its maximum amplitude: wealth concentration in the hands of #billionaires, #trusts, and #multinationals is about to reach its climax.
If the momentum of the #Fediverse could be kept, #society just might reach...
