Been scratching my head as to why the ribbon spools would not come off the Empire Aristocrat. They're not the originals but look the right type, Group 9. After checking it wasn't an obscure lever or clip, a decent grip and pull worked and the issue was degraded stickers on the bases that had glued the spool down over the years, probably 20+

The Empire Aristocrat aka Hermes Baby / Rocket typewriter I bought online arrived, and it's not good.
Some keys are jammed down solid but the typebars loose, and some typebars slightly misaligned and catch on others.
Carriage seems ok.It looks good, no rust on the outside but needs cleaning.
Luckily there seem to be a lot of online resources to help out with taking it apart and fixing.
