4 of the 7 #Ariane6 launches in 2026 are for #Amazon https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Ariane_launches_(2020%E2%80%932029)#Ariane_6_(2024%E2%80%93present) (launches supported by taxpayers with ~65 million € 💰 each)

@schnedan regarding the #transparency of #LaunchCost : Arianespace hasn’t publicly disclosed the cost of an #Ariane6 launch https://mastodon.social/@arstechnica/117130008062227837
European #taxpayers are subsidizing every launch of #satellites for Jeff Bezos by roughly $75 million 💰 https://spacey.space/@spaceflight/114439108543553287

An interesting interview with the right questions and a generally knowledgeable conversation partner* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H5IvbIx7WE
* Claudia Kessler worked for #Airbus (former #EADS), which owns a large stake in #ArianeSpace. So she can hardly claim publicly that #Ariane6 isn't competitive https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Claudia_Kessler#Life_and_work

#Ariane's $96 million launch price, although apparently competitive with #SpaceX's, actually masks 🕵️ a much higher #LaunchCost, made affordable only through subsidies 💰 https://www.fool.com/investing/2026/05/02/europe-still-cant-compete-with-spacex-launch-price/

"So basically the developers of a dead horse who shunned reusability ♻️ still need more tax payers’ money to make their business case work. Even ‘commercial’ launches such as for the #Amazon constellation are reported to be costing the #taxpayer 32 mil. per launch*"
