    #Arianespace hasn’t publicly disclosed the cost of an #Ariane6 launch 🕵️, but it is likely somewhere in the range of 80 million to 100 million euros.

    #ESA has publicly confirmed that the European 🇪🇺 governments will need to subsidize each launch with between 32 million and 38 million euros 💶 per flight.

    🇪🇺 The most recent flight of the upgraded four-booster #Ariane6 launched 36 #Amazon Leo satellites, carrying more than 20 tonnes to orbit on a single mission.

    #ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher warned that #Europe was heading towards a shortage of launch capacity around 2030

    While #Neutron will be significantly more capable, with a planned payload capacity of up to 15,000 kilograms to #LEO, its availability will initially be limited.

  15. #Neutron was designed to lift 13,000 kilograms to orbit . That puts it in the medium-lift category, comparable to the variant of Europe’s #Ariane6 that flies with two solid rocket boosters. Ariane was not designed for reusability ♻️ as Neutron was.

    The second stage is completely enveloped within the first stage and would be released in orbit 🌌 . The rocket will descend back through the atmosphere, only needs to fire its engines once, just before landing aerospaceamerica.aiaa.org/feat
