I should've built this dev tool in Arete a long time ago. It's so much easier now to visualize and fine-tune the CPU's initial behavior. Each counter has an overall posture that can change based on the circumstances, but in some scenarios, like this one, I want to give them a starting "nudge".

I have often reflected on the interminglings of the main three normative sciences. In one of my earliest meditations I saw Beauty, Goodness, and Truth as the intersecting circles of a Venn diagram, with the “summum bonum” the central cell.

As far as our ability to approach our object from our origin without, perfect knowledge of the Good would require us to know all the consequences of our contemplated actions while perfect knowledge of the True would require us to know all the axiom sets which never beget a contradiction.

As far as I could tell, and as far as I could see deciding with the empirical tests and theorem provers I could morally and mathematically envision devising, the above two tasks exceed the talents of mortal humans and all their technological extensions.

But when it comes to Beauty, our form of being appears to have an inborn sense to guide us on our quest to the highest good. That way through beauty to our ultimate goal I called the “human‑hearted path”.

Looking for some feedback. In Arete I made the decision that a unit can only perform a melee attack into a hex that it could move into. But if that unit was to be attacked from that hex, it could still defend itself as usual. So in this hypothetical the chariot could not...

There’s definitely a favorite Alexander book. I know everyone raves about Engels’ “Logistics” book which is great, but for my money this is the one. The annotations and appendices are incredible.

I had my 210th #BloodDonation last week at #StanfordBloodCenter. As usual, platelets and 2 bags sucked out. This aways feels good to help others.

I need to switch arms, but the veins on the other arm side aren't as good and near a valve which can slow future donations.

Put a good chunk into Brian Johnson's #Arete, but need to set it aside as higher library hold priorities showed up.
