Bags of red fruit and a touch of liquorice on the nose. Sweet, treacly mouth-coating, cinnamon, cloves, and orange peel. A slight savouriness.
Young, vibrant and delicious. 🥰

Remote and impressive: Ardnamurchan Lighthouse, which has been standing near mainland Britain's most westerly point since it was built in 1849 by Alan Stevenson, one of the Stevenson dynasty of lighthouse engineers. A weekend rammed with sport kicks off tonight with Scottish Championship Football, and tomorrow is 6 Nations Super Saturday, with all six teams playing and Scotland in with a shout of being tournament winners. Sunday and it's the Chinese Grand Prix.
Need to ca' canny tonight as friends are around tomorrow to watch the rugby, and it will be a long day! So, a couple of wee ones.

Wonderful sweet cherries, strawberries, red currants, and a touch of earthy dunnage. Rich, thick, and mouth-coating, mulled wine with cinnamon, cloves, orange peel, and more dark fruit. Jammy with a slight savouriness. Despite its youth and high ABV, there is no alcohol burn. It is beautifully smooth and quaffable. The cask must have been really active, as the depth of flavour and complexity is astonishing.
This is a real beauty.

Arbroath v Ayr in #scottishchampionship This should be a good game with newly promoted Arbroath taking on last year's championship hopefuls.
I've just finished watching a great Podcast with Ardnamurchan's Carl Crafts, so for the first dram of the weekend it can only be one thing:
AD 2014 CK233, unpeated, Concerto barley from Broomhall Farm, matured in ex-Oloroso, Spanish Oak, 53.4%. And thanks to Kelly and Holly for filling the bottle - I love the detailed information you get on a bottle of Ardnamurchan 😀
Loads of red fruit on the nose: strawberries, raspberries and a touch of black cherry. Pencil shavings. More juicy red fruit on the palate with sticky raisins, liquorice and black treacle, sweet, cinnamon-spiced apple finish.
Wonderful!

Jordan McLachlan, a 26-year-old from #Ardnamurchan, #Scotland, was killed in action on January 5, 2025, while serving on the frontline in #Ukraine.
McLachlan joined the Ukrainian Armed Forces in 2022 as a medic, following the onset of russia’s full-scale invasion. He was actively involved in providing frontline assistance when he was killed.
