St. Roch's Icy Ordeal: Conquering the Northwest Passage
In 1940, the RCMP schooner St. Roch, under Capt. Henry Larsen, began a patrol that became a two-year struggle to traverse the Northwest Passage from west to east. The small vessel spent two winters frozen in Arctic ice.
