This weekend #parenting meant building a mini arcade stick for my daughter so she'd stop reaching for mine while i struggle with #KingOfFighters combos
It's cute and Fisher-Price colored, which her mom and I agreed on. I designed and 3D printed the top cover out of "clear" PETG, which took 5 revisions to fit everything in
The metal shell is no lie pulled from spare parts for a discontinued medical device from a job I worked a decade ago.
the buttons and stick and USB-C passthrough on the back came from https://arcadeshock.com/ whose warehouse is close enough for me to buy in person instead of shipping.
I threw some cheap rainbow RGB in there to glow beneath the translucent faceplate
I 3D printed the adapter forthe USB port on the back as wellThe bottom right text says "Starfist" (inside joke with my wife) but it isn't super legible. Hoping a future 3D print will come out a little clearer
The last picture is of my fightstick, so you can see what she was reaching for. We are an American household and by God I, my wife, and my daughter all prefer bat top levers instead of the common ball top ones.

And now for something completely different: The #C64 mini in black😎
I got it because it is black and the hdmi output can be 50Hz (Retropie on Raspi gives you 60Hz for PAL games🥸)👍
Well, wireless Keyboard on a hub worked right away and running games from USB storage worked too.
TheJoystick is... not so bad but... worse than a Competition Pro!
My #Arcadestick comes with enough buttons to open menus, create Savestates, all from buttons on the joystick, the wireless keyboard is only for more complicated games.
But first none of my Controllers via USB worked 😞
Then I tested with an #8bitdo BT receiver.
You have to force it with Select/-/View + Right in an Apple OS mode to make it work on a C64 mini🥸
Also connect it to USB before power on🤙Now I am wireless happy with the little black one 😎
Next step: How to create CJM files to map Dpad Up on a button🕹

My #Switch2 arrived today🤗
Old #8bitdo controllers and brook adapters fail to work...
But never took no shit from no one, so I did an FW update on my 8bitdo USB2 adapter and it works now. On this stick I can then register my beloved #Arcadestick and play arcade games on the new console.
The second USB stick needs to wait for an upgrade, as the server can not handle the requests as the Switch2 update was released today😂 -

So it turns out Shinseiki Evangelion: Battle Orchestra plays great with an arcade stick, emulated on a PS3.
Also, made a shadow box display of some N64 carts to liven up the space. Weird photo angle for privacy's sake.

This arrived today, and oh wow... it's incredible. So far, I quickly tried it on Muse Dash via Steam on my Mac.
When I have more time, I will try it on some Shmups, Fighters and arcade games on my Switch.
