    @bwiedwards I did see this in the excellent Museum of Science and Technology in the Islamic World in #Istanbul this September and thought of you and the #PoisonsAndPestilence podcast. I should have got a photo of the label as well. I recall that this is supposed to be a scale (1:2? 1:3?) model of a rocket intended to deliver biological agents.
    The biological agents involved?
    Scorpions. (In the box.)

    I just had to kill a HUGE huntsman..

    It was inside the house on the screen door, and Lilith was playing with it - it was bigger than her head!

    I used a broom to open and close doors and did some airlock jiggery trickery with the screen door and glass door, and got it on the outside of the screen and then sprayed it through the screen.

    I know.. if I got it outside I didn't have to kill it, but I did if I ever wanted to sleep again without having the recurring image of it sneaking back I to the house and lying in wait.

    Anyway, it's dead, I've stopped crying and the nausea is settling. Now if I can stop shaking we should be ok.

    CW: arachnaphobia warning: actual photo of a black widow

    I found this incredibly unpleasant girl this evening by completely accidental means.

    I had to move two fighting cats apart and my foot brushed the plant pot. This just happened to turn the pot upright and it remained that way.

    This was a very unexpected "holy shit" moment.

    I murderizied it twice, for good measure.

    But not before accidentally spraying it with WD40 because I grabbed the wrong can.

    Gliding Spider

    Sure, an adult human can probably cope with one bite from these arachnids, but these things swarm large targets and can deliver multiple bites, cause their victims to drop into a coma, and possible death.
