Finally got around actually posting the #WCMM article I wrote in like 2022 lol.
I never felt like it was finished. Always needing more stuff stuffed into it, more photos, etc. But I can't just let it sit for another 3 years in my archive doing nothing when it's fully functional for anyone interested in knowing more about keeping white cloud mountain minnows in patio ponds.

A couple of fish I have owned in the past, a Dwarf Gourami and a Betta named "Nemo".

The quarantine tank is set up for our incoming micro shrimp. I ran the filter in the main tank for a week, then filled the little tank with water from the main tank and transferred the filter over. Hoping to pick them up tomorrow and get them settled in!

Testing the water and finding perfect parameters and happy, healthy fish never gets old 😁
Just set up a quarantine tank since we're going to add some new plants and some Amano shrimp soon. My wife's students have been begging for them and I need to make sure to do things right.

More than one of my wife's students have commented on how clear the water is in her fish tank. I'm so glad the effort that went into getting the tank set up is being noticed. I don't want to be the annoying fish guy, but the other tanks in the school definitely just had fish put directly into uncycled water, and the kids can tell the difference.

Helping my wife set up a small 10-gallon #aquarium in her music classroom, and I sent her a picture to use to explain why there aren't any fish in there yet. Feels good to be getting the cycle going without any stressed fish, but it's definitely a long process when you're already excited about what to stock the tank with.
Planning on a small school of #tetras or #guppies, a few small shrimp and a mystery snail along with some plants.

after a couple of months of feeling like the hobby is more emotional drain than i can handle. both because i have let go of medaka as my main species, but also because of the recent and huge die off i suffered (lost about 80% of my fish).
the pet store surprisingly came to the rescue. a permanent 20% discount. and a list of species they pay good money for if i become a local breeder.
so i spent all day yesterday redesigning my fishroom for this new goal 😁
