    Well… it tastes like “cooked lawn clippings” according to @SockDiva

    The damper also has lots of #garlic in it, so I’m tasting a mix of the 2 with the #apricotjam helping distract a little from the herb taste.

  6. @NancyNilgen Those tea cups! I love them! I am going to abstain from voting until I have the opportunity to try both ways. I am very prepared to be convinced that #TeamCornwall is the way to go though.

    Is that #ApricotJam ? I like very tart #BeachPlumJam but have settled for regular #PlumJam and #DorisPlum here in #NewZealand

    The prophet back then was all like, you either garden and can your own shit like a goddamn pioneer or you aren’t worthy of Celestial Glory and I’ve hated the idea of canning ever since. Even though I’ve never tasted pickled beets as good as we had all through the end of times (the end of the 80s).

    So this is a big step for me. And a weird hit to my self-image.

    But Indian spices make it fancy and urban and cool and I’m solarpunk now and I grew them apricots all by myself.*

    * The tree grew them.

  26. Well here it is. I was going for two jars so I tried to overshoot but really all I got was this jar and 1/10th of another jar. I should have prepped every single apricot I picked, because now they’re going in the compost.

    Note that according to my research this jar is NOT self stable. Because I didn’t boil the whole jar with an inch of water over the top. I’m keeping this one in the freezer until I finish the 1/10th of the other, which is in the fridge.

Some to the fridge; a batch for #ApricotJam and enough left for an #ApricotChutney . The birds and bats have already been feasting, as well as the local kids (the tree hangs over the footpath)

    Simple recipe:
    2kg chopped apricots
    1 cup of water
    2 lemons - juice and rind (finely chopped)
    2 tablespoon finely chopped fresh ginger root
    1kg sugar

    Should make a dozen small jars of jam.
