The detergent in my dishwasher dispenser is not disolving. I'm guessing I need to replace the rubber seal on it.

This gasket looking bit came out of the dishwasher. Been scouring parts pages and see nothing like this for our model. It’s a Kenmore 66515872000.
It’s not the door seal, and there doesn’t appear to be anything missing where it might fit in the floor of the washer. It was a circle (broke while dish rack was being pulled out) and is 9 inches in diameter, 1/4 inch high and 1/8 inch thick.

We are looking for a GE stove part WB21X5320 (that's a zero at the end), fits GE model J403S (also a zero).
We have searched all of the big U.S. part supply businesses. We have asked several repair shops to be on the look for one. No luck.
So, I am turning to the power of Mastodon. Does anyone know anyone who could manufacture this part dor us? Does anyone know someone who has a junk yard in which the same model stove might be found?
A bit of wisdom for anyone else fixing a GE dishwasher - if you're replacing the circulation pump, remove the diverter valve with the pump rather than trying to fit the pump to the valve. Less risk of damaging the valve and it's much easier. But, with the valve now replaced my leak is gone. #appliancerepair

Something I can really get on board with is that the circulation pump I removed had a 2-d barcode on it which brought up sites selling the part. Nice! I bought mine at a local place, but still a really neat surprise.

I repaired our dishwasher, so I'm strutting and preening around the house. It's been a while since I had to fix anything and I absent-mindedly mocked the appliance gods by having the temerity push the dishwasher back under the counter before testing. Of course, it leaked.

Dishwasher had soap dispenser that wasn't opening. Service sheet detailed service mode where I could turn on the solenoid to open that. Nothing. Followed door disassembly instructions and found mechanism gummed up. Washed out and tested without fully reassembling. No parts needed 🥳
Refrigerator wasn't cold. Typed model and symptom into YouTube which suggested control board. Ordered online with fast shipping endured 32hr of delivery time. Installed in ~10min 👍

1. Don't panic.
2. Take off the kickplate (if there is one) look for a folded up chunk of paper containing service information. Finding this can unlock all sorts of codes and disassembly instructions.
3. Read that carefully - especially the safety warnings, follow what it says, take lots of pictures, and find a way to contain all the screws (pillbottle?)
4. Check out YouTube videos for your issue / model of appliance

When IT troubleshooting skills meet hardware hacking skills meet home appliance repair, you end up with $40 on replacement board components, 3 hours of research, 8 hours of physical troubleshooting, 4 hours with the old man probing said board at the component level to make a janky schematic, 10 hours of imposter syndrome, 5 days waiting for items to ship literally from the other side of the country, janky things with mains voltage...
All leading to this: a 10K resistor out of an arduino learning kit in a wiring harness to emulate a (now confirmed) busted sensor to confirm that said sensor was the cluprit.
Was it worth it? #hellyes Paying some guy $120/hour doesn't give you this sort of high that can last you a lifetime.

Unless we can find a replacement oven temperature regulator we must replace a beautiful, vintage, we are really going to miss it 40” wide electric stove with the standard, boring, but they don’t make the 40” models anymore 30” stove. We have searched the entire country for the replacement part. They simply don’t exist. Surely there is a way to have one manufactured. They look like such a simple part. Any recommendations?
If you are a #homeowner you have to know about this site. One of the clips that holds the racks on my dishwasher broke and I was able to source a replacement in just a couple minutes.
Surely this can't be just my problem. (Don't call me Shirley). The screws holding my dishwasher to the underside of the counter go into particle board. A few times they've come out and the lower rack has scooted across the kitchen floor. Exciting! Now, thanks to Gorilla glue and a slender length of smooth plywood, the screws can get a good grab. Well, that's the theory. We'll see.
@enobacon So in theory the circuit boards and components are all potted (a layer of epoxy or something covering everything, making them waterproof; you can see the circuit board is shiny & reflective, and bubbles in the glue where the connector meets the board).
