Blind and low-vision musicians — drummers and percussionists especially! 🥁

PolyNome is an iPhone metronome and practice app, but way deeper than a basic click: build practice routines, work through polyrhythms, map out song structures, save gig setlists, and more.

The developer just redesigned it and is actively building in VoiceOver accessibility — and he's asking what we need *before* building it, which almost never happens. I'm working with him directly and it's going great.

He's opening the TestFlight beta to a small group. It's a real beta, so expect rough edges — that's the point, your feedback shapes the fixes. Go deep screen by screen, or just try it and tell us how it feels to get around. Both help. iPhone needed for this round.

Interested? DM me the Apple ID email tied to your iCloud (that's what the invite needs — sometimes different from your main email, so double-check) and I'll pass a batch to the dev.

Just in case you haven’t seen it yet, the AppleVis 2025 Accessibility Report Card is out, and it’s an important read.
I had the chance to contribute feedback this year, and it really reflects what a lot of us in the blind and low vision community have been experiencing lately.
With Apple’s 50th anniversary coming up, this is a big moment. Accessibility has come a long way, but there’s clearly work that needs to be done. Stability, reliability, and listening to users has to be the focus moving forward.
Grateful to be part of this community and these conversations.

Quick question: is there a third-party app for iPhone or iPad that lets you customize the sound of the on-screen typing keyboard?

I already use a Mac app called Loud Typer (found through AppleVis) that changes the key-click sounds, and I’m wondering if there’s something similar for iOS or iPadOS.

giving this Carrot Weather a try, after hearing Annonymouse demoing it on #AppleVis. Man, lots of data on this thing.

Hi everyone, I chose #Lire as my RSS reader of choice and I love it. However, I’m having trouble adding #AppleVis forms to it. When I open the form, tap share, and choose subscribe using Lire. When I open Lire the feed never shows up. Does anyone have any ideas?
