One thing I don't like about Passwords on macOS is how the search/filter works. I feel like it does the wrong thing when you type multiple words separated by spaces into it.
To be fair, I can see that if it did something else people might want this instead, but I'm always looking for an AND match of two words not just the substring. Like aws AND Steve, not a password item literally called AWS Steve. #macoS #ApplePasswords

I bailed on 1Password about a year ago for Apple’s Passwords. It isn’t a total solution because I like to have bank and credit card information stored on my devices in a secure vault. Since I was already a SetApp subscriber, I started using Secrets for those things. #1Password #Secrets #ApplePasswords #SetApp

With Apple Passwords is there a way to say "don't show this account" when there are multiple accounts for a website? Or even just "default to this one"? Other than deleting all the other accounts, of course.
It keeps surfacing a test AppleID. #macOS #ApplePasswords

Does anyone know why Apple passwords sometimes just doesn’t get that a site is asking for a new password? And, to make matters worse, there isn’t any easy way while in that predicament to ask it to generate and save a new password for the site while I’m in that field. #applepasswords #stupidappleshit

Thinking of switching to Apple's new Passwords app? It merges iCloud Keychain but importing existing passwords currently needs a Mac & a .csv. Heads up: it only handles logins for now & imports can be glitchy. Keep your old manager close. #ApplePasswords #iOS18 #macOS

I’ve Changed My Mind About Apple’s New Password App

#ApplePasswords app security issues zero is the new inbox zero.

Given rumours that Apple will release a Passwords app this year, I decided to try exporting my vault from #1Password to test the current state of #ApplePasswords. Here’s a few things I’ve discovered that will make it hard for me to move:
- Logins are required to have a website URL and username, so over 100 of my logins didn’t import that I now have to manually fix
- No support for other credential types like Wi-Fi, Identities, Passports, License Keys etc.
- No secure attachments

I should add though that I do still recommend #1Password's service if that is what you are looking for. But I'm a bit jaded that local vaults were removed as an option and you are forced into continuous pay-to-play model to use the program on their servers.
Since I'm 95% in the #Apple ecosystem and the other 5% is covered by the #ApplePasswords plugin for a few select #Windows browsers, the decision to finally try it out happened. And, aside from a couple of minor quirks, it works wonderfully.
