I caught up. It was okay. Nothing I really need, as expected, but not bad.
iPhone 18 Pro: Logical successor to the 17 Pro. Adjustable aperture is nice and as a iPhone 15 Pro user better thermal management sounds great. Seriously, I regularly burn my fingers on this thing… The new Berry like color is fun.
Apple Watch Series 12: As a Series 9 owner I have the last generation that gets watchOS 27. So I'm in luck here. Everything they said about the 12 makes it better. For me actually extremely interesting. But the Series 9 still works. So no need to upgrade.
iPhone Duo: Well. That's pretty much the most Apple Foldable you could imagine right now. Not surprising. The form factor they chose makes so much more sense than these other Foldables. Still would've loved to see what they could've done with a flip-style phone. I'm much more interested, than I expected.
But I said three years ago that I buy the 15 Pro and use it at least 5 years. One reason was "It's hilarious that phones cost above 1000 bucks these days". Well the Duo is 2300€ in Germany. Hard pass.
I guess Foldables aren't a category I will every experience in daily life when these prices continue to.One thing got clear to me while watching: I appreciate my old devices much more than before. Everything still works great (besides battery, but that was never Apples strength and I'm around a charger most of the time). Especially with iOS 27, where my Pro phone doesn't feel a cheap piece of junk anymore. iOS 26 was really terrible.
