Die Erwartungen waren groß, am Ende hat #Apple auf der #Keynote bis auf eine Ausnahme kein neues Zubehör vorgestellt. Die #AirPods5 sind da und können ab sofort bestellt werden. Die Auslieferung der neuen #Kopfhörer erfolgt dann nächste Woche Freitag gemeinsam mit den überarbeiteten #AppleWatch|es und dem #iPhone18Pro (Max). Preislich hat sich der einfache Apple-Kopfhörer in eine sehr interessante Richtung entwickelt.

I caught up. It was okay. Nothing I really need, as expected, but not bad.
iPhone 18 Pro: Logical successor to the 17 Pro. Adjustable aperture is nice and as a iPhone 15 Pro user better thermal management sounds great. Seriously, I regularly burn my fingers on this thing… The new Berry like color is fun.
Apple Watch Series 12: As a Series 9 owner I have the last generation that gets watchOS 27. So I'm in luck here. Everything they said about the 12 makes it better. For me actually extremely interesting. But the Series 9 still works. So no need to upgrade.
iPhone Duo: Well. That's pretty much the most Apple Foldable you could imagine right now. Not surprising. The form factor they chose makes so much more sense than these other Foldables. Still would've loved to see what they could've done with a flip-style phone. I'm much more interested, than I expected.
But I said three years ago that I buy the 15 Pro and use it at least 5 years. One reason was "It's hilarious that phones cost above 1000 bucks these days". Well the Duo is 2300€ in Germany. Hard pass.
I guess Foldables aren't a category I will every experience in daily life when these prices continue to.One thing got clear to me while watching: I appreciate my old devices much more than before. Everything still works great (besides battery, but that was never Apples strength and I'm around a charger most of the time). Especially with iOS 27, where my Pro phone doesn't feel a cheap piece of junk anymore. iOS 26 was really terrible.

First time since the presentation of the iPhone 7 that I don't watch the #AppleKeynote live.
I will watch the VOD later or tomorrow as I like to see the presentation instead of just reading articles, but I just don't really care.
My AirPods Pro 2 are still absolutely fine. My iPhone 15 Pro is still rocking, especially with iOS 27. My Apple Watch Series 9 is still more than okay (besides the battery life, but that was always terrible and won't be better for the Series 12). I don't care for iPads or whatever stuff could be announced today.
And even if I would care, everything will be much more expensive this year despite the fact everything stagnates for years. So it wouldn't be worth it anyway.

My only wish for today is that we get an option to run notarized apps on iOS. Maybe as the “One More Thing”.

@libreoffice I spent the weekend converting my Apple Pages, Numbers, and KeyNote files to LibreOffice. Two things stood out: 1) Libre doesn’t handle KeyNote lines very well, lengths and orientations were all wrong; 2) Libre doesn’t like to bring in custom fonts during the conversion of Pages.
Both can be worked around.
Libre has come a long way since I last used it many years ago. I feel like I can use it regularly now. Great job!!!

I just posted a "public service announcement" to my (personal) socials warning non-techie family and friends to avoid upgrading to the new OS releases for a couple of months. At least until the first point update this fall.
I don't ever recall having to do a PSA like that before.
I also gave them instructions on how to disable Combined mode in the Phone Recents tab and switch back from Compact mode with Safari's tab bar.
