Nowy Apple Vision Pro z Apple M5 produkowany w Wietnamie

Od jutra do sprzedaży trafia zaktualizowany Apple Vision Pro z procesorem Apple M5 i nowym paskiem Dual Knit Band.

Największa zmiana znajduje się jednak na etykiecie pudełka – widnieje na niej napis „Product of Vietnam”, co potwierdza przeniesienie produkcji z Chin do Wietnamu.

Jak informuje Bloomberg, pierwsza generacja była montowana przez chińską firmę Luxshare Precision Industry, odpowiedzialną również za część produkcji AirPodsów. Nowa wersja headsetu powstaje już w Wietnamie, choć sam pasek sprzedawany osobno nadal produkowany jest w Chinach.

Decyzja Apple to część strategii dywersyfikacji łańcucha dostaw, którą firma intensyfikuje w obliczu napięć handlowych między USA a Chinami. Produkcja urządzeń przeznaczonych na rynek amerykański stopniowo przenoszona jest do Wietnamu, Indii, Tajlandii i Malezji, choć większość globalnej produkcji wciąż pozostaje w Chinach.

Nowy Vision Pro (M5) różni się od poprzednika jedynie drobnymi zmianami sprzętowymi, co ułatwiło przeniesienie montażu. Symbolicznie to jednak kolejny krok w stronę uniezależnienia Apple od chińskiej produkcji – szczególnie w kontekście planów rozwoju segmentu wearables i urządzeń AR/VR.

Apple Vision Pro 2 może nadal korzystać z procesora Apple M4

Choć wcześniej przewidywano, że Apple Vision Pro 2 otrzyma prawdopodobnie nowy procesor Apple M5, najnowsze doniesienia Marka Gurmana wskazują, że Apple testuje także wersje z M4.

To przypomina sytuację z pierwszym modelem, który korzystał z M2, mimo że M3 była już dostępna.

Utrzymanie M4 może być elementem obniżenia kosztów, choć głównym problemem sprzedaży Vision Pro pozostaje wysoka cena (3 499 USD) i brak przełomowych funkcji. Apple planuje większą aktualizację dopiero w 2027 roku, z modelem tańszym i lżejszym.

Na razie druga generacja Vision Pro ma głównie oferować przyspieszenie procesora, a nie duże zmiany funkcjonalne.

I don't think I've ever seen a piece of tech that obscures the eyes do well (3D Glasses, VR, AR). It's just one of those main sensory functions that cannot be obscured and is so vital for human function.

Apple officially announced the dates of #WWDC23, and I’m very excited to see if #Apple announces an #AR or #VR headset. Even though I'm excited to see if they reveal one, I'm not particularly enthusiastic about getting my head in one.
