  1. 🎉 Oh joy, another ode to the ancient relic known as the #sockets interface! Meanwhile, the rest of us are busy navigating the labyrinth of APNIC's website, desperately searching for "Make a payment" buttons like it's an Easter egg #hunt. 🐇💸

  3. In today's episode of "Who Cares?", #APNIC serves up an enthralling tale of minuscule #RPKI servers run by who-knows-who 🙄. It's a thrilling saga of navigating #Whois databases and paying bills, guaranteed to put you to sleep faster than you can say "IPv6" 😴.

  4. 🎉 Oh, look, #Google finally stumbled its way to 50% #IPv6 like a toddler learning to walk—clap, clap, clap! Meanwhile, the rest of us are still stuck deciphering APNIC's labyrinthine blog, desperately trying to figure out how to "make a payment" without launching a nuclear missile. 💥🔍

  5. An awesome guest post: Botnets Never Die on the creativity of #malware developers to be found at #APNIC. It covers details to the #AisuruBotnet, The #AIRASHIBotnet, and how their #C2 communication #protocol works.

Apparnetly, the heartbeat is a client sending cat to the C2 server, and the server responds with meow. Fun and creative.

  6. #TIL that #APNIC and #Cloudflare partnered on 1.1.1.1. APNIC had ownership of the two #IPv4 prefixes 1.0.0.0/24 and 1.1.1.0/24 - both are anycasted for Cloudflare's #DNS resolver for a while now. In return, APNIC receives valuable insights into DNS behaviour.

More on it in their blog post.

  7. "Analysing the state of Happy Eyeballs implementations" by Patrick Sattler for APNIC, blog.apnic.net/2025/10/07/anal concludes with the observation "that slow A queries also slow down IPv6, even when IPv6 is not the cause of slower responses. This may contribute to negative perceptions of IPv6 and adversely affect IPv6 deployment."

  8. At APNIC 60, during the IPv6 Deployment session, several presentations explored the state of IPv6 research, deployment, and adoption — from scanning techniques and national transition strategies to operational rollouts. Together, they highlighted how IPv6 continues to evolve across research, policy, and practice, with a clear shift towards IPv6-only. This post explores those presentations.

  9. Bangladesh’s Internet has come a long way — from being satellite-dependent to building digital highways powered by submarine cables, local peering, and supportive policies.
In my article on @ripencc Labs, I explore this journey and what lies ahead. With more focus on rural connectivity, local peering, and policy support, Bangladesh can accelerate toward a fully digital future.

  10. Last day of #SANOG43

One of the many many things i am enjoying here is
    IPv6 connectivity -

may my country of residence follow this example soon :)

ps. my joy in being here is not dominated by ipv6 :)

  11. Some interesting facts I like to share to give those remotely related to the industry an idea on the scale of the #Internet (from the perspective of a network nerd):

BGP routing table entries examined: 994,587
    Number of IPv4 prefixes
    - w/ valid ROA: 555,410
    - w/o valid ROA: 437,967
    - w/ invalid ROA: 1.210

    Total ASNs: 77,222
    Origin-only ASNs: 66,053
    Transit ASNs: 11,169

All these insights are announced weekly by #apnic . These, and many more insights are available on [thyme.apnic.net]. In my case, I got those updates from the #AFNOG mailing list. Great community service from everyone!
