A lot of the discussion around agentic payments understandably focuses on the “wait … how exactly is this supposed to work safely?” part. Which makes sense, given that we are talking about autonomous software making decisions that eventually lead to money moving around.

So when AP2 and Verifiable Intent were contributed into the FIDO Alliance, it gave me the chance to dig into this topic a lot deeper. I wrote up my understanding in a (slightly) more technical follow-up to the announcements, intended to give a clearer picture of what has actually been contributed to the FIDO Alliance and where the thinking in the Payments Technical Working Group may be heading.

Moving this work from invention and experimentation into open standardization is a pretty important milestone. Agentic payments will ultimately need a shared, interoperable trust layer for identity, consent, and delegation. Building that with the broader ecosystem is crucial to avoid us ending up with 47 incompatible versions of “trust me, the AI meant to do that.”

Jej fundamentem jest inteligentny koszyk Universal Cart oraz nowa infrastruktura płatnicza, dzięki której sztuczna inteligencja będzie mogła w pełni bezpiecznie i autonomicznie kupować produkty w naszym imieniu.

Universal Cart, czyli koszyk, który myśli

Universal Cart to scentralizowany koszyk zakupowy działający płynnie pomiędzy wszystkimi usługami Google. Oznacza to, że możemy dodać produkt do koszyka bezpośrednio z poziomu wyników wyszukiwania, a proces sfinalizować podczas rozmowy z asystentem Gemini na telefonie.

Po dodaniu przedmiotu koszyk nie pozostaje pasywny – zaczyna pracować w tle. Algorytmy nieustannie skanują sieć w poszukiwaniu najlepszych promocji, śledzą historię cen i powiadamiają o dostępności towaru. Co więcej, Universal Cart wykazuje zdolność inteligentnego rozumowania. Jeśli użytkownik kompletuje zestaw komputerowy i doda do koszyka podzespoły od różnych sprzedawców, system proaktywnie wychwyci ewentualny brak kompatybilności sprzętowej i natychmiast zasugeruje odpowiednie zamienniki. Dzięki integracji z Portfelem Google (Google Wallet), system zna również nasze programy lojalnościowe i podpowiada najlepsze opcje płatności. Funkcja ta zadebiutuje latem w Stanach Zjednoczonych.

Szybkie składanie zamówień bezpośrednio w aplikacjach Google będzie możliwe dzięki Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) – otwartemu, ustandaryzowanemu interfejsowi, który łączy sprzedawców z wyszukiwarką. Pozwala on na sfinalizowanie transakcji kilkoma kliknięciami za pomocą Google Pay, bez konieczności opuszczania usług Google, przy czym faktycznym realizatorem zamówienia nadal pozostaje konkretna marka detaliczna (np. Nike, Sephora czy Walmart). Z czasem technologia ta obejmie również rezerwacje hoteli oraz zamawianie jedzenia.

Одним из самых лучших ответов на этот вопрос становится протокол x402 . x402 - это протокол от Coinbase, продолжение инициативы от Google с их AP2. x402 позволяет делать нативные платежи для http-интерфейсов. Запрос->Заголовок->Оплата->Результат. Без карт, лишних кабинетов с балансами, и прочей мороки. Любой веб-ресурс или API может запрашивать оплату, а клиент (человек/агент/бот) могут оплачивать с помощью блокчейн транзакций. Для тех, кто создаёт MCP, это колоссальный буст: наконец-то появляется монетизация. Каждый вызов вашего API, может быть платным, или только методы подписки или pro-функций, могут быть платными. Возможность монетизации выведет на рынок большое количество платных MCP, а вслед за ними начнётся настоящий бум всевозможных бесплатных MCP (запись в салон красоты/спа/итд). Протокол работает на HTTP 402 ответе. В связи с тем, что никто его толком не использует, и он десятки лет остался свободным, сейчас наконец появляется применение.
