So, Anzac Day again. For the first time in many years, I didn't go to our community commemoration (because I was tired and feeling crook). But, I've always been pretty dubious about it.
I wrote this piece many years ago and my views haven't changed. I find the media's lead-in coverage rarely questions the need for the wars we commemorate, or the real history behind them, and they gloss over how many of the soldiers didn't have a choice about going to war.
We need to remember that war is murder and is never the best solution to any problem.
