Would any of you good #HamRadio folk in the UK have a working #DMR codeplug for an #AnyTone878 AT-D878UVII Plus that contains working configuration for one or more repeaters? (That you would be willing to share?) Radio works on hotspot and analogue 5/9 to Rochester analogue repeater - but can’t access the DMR at Rochester (& others). No parrot, no TG91 World, TG9 Local - set up via the GB7IK details on qrz.com. Need to see a working setup for something to see what’s wrong!

I'm checking out the new #Anytone #AnyTone878
#hamradio FW which includes #satellite functionality. When setting it up, the screen says "preciditing" passes🤣Off to a great start lol

Good news for #Anytone878 owners, CPS & FW 3.05 fix the satellite function where the TLEs were obsolete. You now have a tool to update them from celestrak or any TLE source.

I should not have been given the power to customize the PTT / call end beeps on my radio.
Who can name the sounds?

The newest #AnyTone878 firmware can now track satellites and even correct for Doppler shift. What.

So I have made an interesting discovery:
#AnyTone 878 radios, do not mute encrypted calls when they lack the correct encryption key. No, they just play the completely garbled sound.
Interesting.

update:
I got sent a link by someone to this, http://www.wouxun.us/item.php?item_id=447&category_id=91
(I'm assuming they don't want credit since the message was "locked")
It is more than I need, but it has the button. So, I bought it and swapped out the red button with my radio, as I didn't want to take my radio completely apart just to replace the button (as I'm not sure I could have put it back together)
And now I have extra buttons, in case I lose a different one.

I've reached out to:
* AnyTone (directly; no response)
* BridgeCom
* DX Engineering
* Ham Radio Outlet
* Powerwerxand so far, most vendors have said to reach out to AnyTone directly or don't have any options available
I've even looked at getting a broken one on eBay, but those are still expensive
I might have to ask a friend to 3D print one
Has this happened to anyone else who has an AnyTone 878 UV*?
(and of course, it's out of warranty)

Here is a link to the Bluetooth headset that worked best with the #AnyTone878 / #AnyTone878uv - as mentioned in the test results above ~ https://www.walmart.com/ip/Blue-Tiger-Elite-Plus-Single-and-Dual-Ear-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headset-Noise-Cancellation-with-Microphone-Long-Battery-Life/113104679

Did a simplex test on 2meters today w/ two other local hams who helped me determine the best Bluetooth headset (of two I own) to use w/ the #AnyTone878uv, as well as which mic gain settings sound best w/ HT's internal mic, an attached handheld speaker-mic, a BlueTiger Dual Elite Plus headset w/ swivel mic, & a BT-940 Bluetooth headphone w/ earpiece mic. Results: HT's internal mic was best of all - at Analog-Mic-Gain setting 2. Second Place: (...results in comments below) #KE0FFT #AnyTone878

I haven’t done anything with D-Star yet, although I hypothetically *could* access the mode using my #SharkRF #OpenSPOT3 and #AnyTone878. (I’ve only used #Brandmeister and #TGIFdmr so far). - This looks like a good resource to get an idea of what #HamRadioNets are available on #DStar when the time comes. #AmateurRadioNets #hamr ~ http://www.dstarinfo.com/nets.aspx

Ever look at that #AnyTone878 screen and see an icon or two you think you should know but don’t? Or have you - like me - often not paid attention to much beyond the freq / repeater callsign / talkgroup, and never really thought much beyond that, especially once you finally had that code-plug all figured out? This video might be more useful than you expect. And it’s better than most in its simplicity, brevity and utility. ~ https://youtu.be/MQVppk_2VAc

#AnyTone878 UV with the remote PTT button and BT headset connected. I attaced the PTT button to the side of tge headset without an earphone. #KE0FFT #WINTERHEAT2023

Today I got the #AnyTone878 connected to its remote PTT button & my Bluetooth driving headset. Now I can listen to the HT audio remotely & transmit using the headset mic by pushing the PTT button as long as both are within reception range of the radio. Using that setup, I made a mobile QSO just north of Carlyle, Illinois today - got good signal & audio reports - and we activated all 4 #WINTERHEAT2023 analog freqs. - I think I’ll be using that AnyTone Bluetooth feature all the time now. #KE0FFT
