Yet another character from #Antumbra realistic portraits series. NULL. Xe/Xem pronouns, nonbinary full-on cybernetic prosthetics apart from the brain (concussions choice for reasons revealed later).
Edit: changes pronouns to xe/xem. These are closer to nonbinary. And they are closer to NULL's philosophy and approach to life than xem's own gender or sexual orientation :)

An apology to all the people who bought #Antumbra ch.00 and supported me on it!
All the inconsistencies and redesigns of the characters came up the character compared to the presentation at the first chapter were due to me shaping the characters up even more and learning more "tricks" of the trade (i.e. manga making)... Part of the process of improving the plot and honing my skills... I was but an amateur then (still am lol) only learning how to even make a spread and correct mistakes. I hope and will try to make up for it with the redesign of ch.00 and the next one! The art is far from perfect, but the characters have been formed :)
Again, thanks for sticking with me and supporting back when you did :D

First drawing of 2026 is surprisingly enough ready (already). I give you another one #Antumbra character portrait, Cin! I think she's closer to punk aesthetics 😎 Anyway. I hope you like her! She has one HECK of a story and is close to Ghenkov :)

What I thought would be chapter one for #Antumbra will be probably a whole new arc/saga of the main char.... Chapter one will not start from the very beginning... But it will start from the beginning of the descent to the darkness of the story and the plot. It will start down and ugly.

Ghenkov, is a very eccentric persona and the 5th major character of #Antumbra. The next one to be presented will be the one and only main char, Rid!
Now inking starts to scare me XD I think I'll absolutely fail with making them shown as I want to!

Did the inking for #Antumbra logo. I'm really liking how clean it looks this time. More spaced characters and the moon is lower, but I think this leads to a better overall effect.
I am not really sure though where to put the japanese characters... Where they were (bottom right) or on top of the logo? :thinking_rotate:

Managed to get to #Antumbra finally! Not page wise but at least I did start to work upon plot and characters and design. So here's Takehiko. Shin-iaido master of noble origins. Tried to combine #scif/#cyberpunk elements with traditional martial arts feeling. Noble.
Done with #fountainpen and felt damn good :D

Name's Toyohito. I try to draw comics/manga in sci-fi/cyberpunk settings. Most end up being dark themed. My own personal project is #Antumbra. I'm not here to make a living as an artist (for now anyway) but to share stories in the best-for-my-current-skillset-art I can provide and crossing fingers many people will enjoy reading them.

So today I finally went ahead and printed the damn thing. Cut it up a bit, and stapled it myself :P Turns out that printed has a completely different feeling! #Antumbra chapter 0 has finally been officially released as it is intended! Enjoy and listen as the pages turn! <3

Inking progresses better than expected! The "trick" of using a 2H pencil line to guide the ink worked great! M.O. from now on: blue lines for general rough draft, 2H pencil for fine lines and details to help inking!

Ended up redoing 2 panels, because the reader (you) would end up not having a clue what was happening!Today I learned two things:
1. when a character is facing one way, keep them facing that way, unless something majorly important needs to be conveyed (change the focus to another character for example),
2. avoid making 180 degrees view turn, as that disorients
3 (bonus). be ready to accept that a page can be completely different from what I had in mind and should end up requiring a redoing.... 😭Edit: man, making comics is a tough thing....

Gradually pushing forward. Panels have been decided (I just didn't have the capacity to even do another line last night XD).It might need some minor changes/tweaks in the panels of the man walking down the corridor, but not sure yet.
After this page Antumbra officially begins in its current timeline with it's first satiating chapter! :D

Finally got around to revising and improving (I think) the logo/title of #Antumbra. I tried to give it a move dark #sci-fi, #cuberpunk, #biopunk style. Added some colour with #markers as well for a bit of flavour :P The rest was done #tradionalart with #pen and #ink and digitized for obvious reasons :P
