✧ crescent-faced antpitta ✧
The crescent-faced antpitta (Grallaricula lineifrons) is a species of bird in the antpitta family, Grallariidae. It is found in scattered locations in the Andes, from southern Ecuador through to Colombia's Quindío Department. It inhabits the undergrowth of humid forest, both cloudforest and elfin forest...

Short video panning over the #landscape in #Sumapaz #NationalPark, #Colombia. This is around 3,700 m above sea level in one of the largest remaining areas of the #Páramo ecosystem. The swamp in the middle of the scanned area contained lesser #yellowlegs, Andean #teal and American #coot. The surrounding areas held Boyaca #antpitta, Apolinar's #wren, green-throated #helmetcrest, many-striped #canastero and Brazilian #GuineaPigs.

I spent the weekend visiting #NationalParks outside #Bogotá, #Colombia, mainly for #birds. There was plenty of rain, and the light wasn't great, but it was wonderful to explore new ecosystems (Páramo and Bosque Alto-Andino) and see some distinctive species.
