The "Hong Kong 47", a group of politicians who have been charged under the National Security Law for their political plans and actions back in 2019, have received their verdicts. From what I can tell, the charge is "subversion". Their illegal actions were to ... *checks notes* ... try to win an election and then ... engage in politics. Truly heinous crimes.
Out of 47 charged, 31 pleaded guilty, 14 were found guilty and 2 were acquitted. The government is planning to appeal the two acquittals.

Never seen a District Council election promoted as hard as this one.
Probably because the new "better governance" election it's the most useless and pointless district election since the District Boards were established 40 years ago.

Now new "patriotic" rules for "better goverment" are in place.

Hong Kong media say the city's No. 2 leader John Lee is likely to enter the race to succeed Lam. Chief Secretary Lee was the city's head of security during the 2019 protests and is known for his support for the police force during the protests and his tough stance against protesters.

Apparently the IDF used small drones to deploy tear gas against West Bank residents.

Last year they blamed the pandemic so they could stop the annual June 4th candlelight vigil.
This year they have the #NatSecLawHK so they can just come out and say that commemorating the Party's atrocities is wrongthink.
But even the NSL doesn't reach that far, so the official unofficial reason (all this reasoning was leaked) is that some elements in anti-massacre circles question the single-party rule, and that is indeed illegal now.
