It's good that there was protest against Israel's participation, considering what crimes against humanity their government and military continue to commit.

That they censor the protest means that it's hard to distinguish the #antizionist critique from the #antisemitism. The desperate attempt to stay apolitical doesn't help anyone, it's mostly cowardice.
But I don't expect more from such an event tbh.

The Israeli singer looked so worried when he almost won, and so glad & relieved when Bulgaria got more points in the last second. If he had won, that would have meant another increase in #antisemitism. It was so surreal how Israel was leading the count, but you could only hear booing in the background.

Jewish Vancouverites are scared, upset and feel powerless.

The police, and even the local hospital knows exactly who is vandalizing polls, terrorizing neighbourhoods and screaming hate, but they aren't taking action.

As a Jewish Vancouverite, I also see some of these same things where I live, and I have been physically confronted by antisemites here.

If you live in Vancouver, show your solidarity or at least care with Jewish people and spread awareness and show that hate isn't acceptable here.
