At the excavation in #Hasenleitengasse, she was responsible for the documentation and anthropological examination of the human #skeletal remains. I'm celebrating Kropotkin today.
(I thought it was their birthday, but @sqrl_23 set me right - that's 9 December).
I've been rereading _Mutual Aid_ and there are a few passages that really sing. It's amazing to read the work of some who is as comfortable describing the migration of Siberian antelope as they are the political economy of medieval European city-states and guilds.
The sections on savages...well, for that we have #anarchist #anthropologist folk who have got past primitivist fallacies and the horrors of cultural evolution.
There is such a clear thread connecting Kropotkin, Bateson, and Burghardt (_Genesis of Animal Play_ ) - Kropotkin is perfectly aware that invertebrates play.
Yet again I am struck by the fact that suspicious "colluders" and traitorous "collaborators" are just *us*, playing (co-ludere) and working (co- labors) together.
Anyway, old Piotr must be at least two rebirths on from that life now! I thank them for their legacy, inspiration, and example.

As a cultural #anthropologist, I appreciate your approach to seeing the #Fediverse as having diverse cultures. I really appreciate the even-handed tone and thoughtfulness your bring to these discussions. I am someone who came to Mastodon to get FAR, FAR, FAR away from #BigTech. I do not regret the move. I’m a newbie who is not (yet) wedded to any particular #fediculture. I find everything happening here fascinating.
