Mistodon: and people are always especially curious how we're holding up on the #ANSIart end of things. Well, a number of artists have drawn a lot of it, in many different styles and on widely varied subjects... Here's a sampling of what's on offer in the new unthemed MIST0826 artpack collection!

Mistodon: The new unthemed MIST0826 artpack collection is out, containing a wide variety of different kinds of vintage computer art, including #ANSIart and #teletext, #pixelart and #ASCIIart and music (difficult to illustrate).

Mistodon: you think you're having a hard time in the sweltering sun, have a thought for this fully-armoured member of the #KnightsTemplar crusading in the Egyptian desert circa the 12th/13th century, here drawn in #ANSIart by Darkman Almighty. This piece was included in the MIST0822 artpack collection released four years ago this month.

Fleshing out two subjects noted in passing in yesterday's article on Mist's 2023 The Big Dig #ANSIart joint, today we have written up Blocktronics' ACiD Trip and WTF4 scrollers from 2013 and 2014 respectively, the largest ANSI art works ever drawn:

Mistodon: four years ago, @pixeldud had a month of #textmode art exploration, where he drew a screen daily for thirty days. This slice of isometric landscape excavation, "The Pit", a little dig in preparation for The Big Dig, is one such specimen of the outsider #ANSIart that resulted, released in the MIST0822 artpack collection.

Mistodon: this #ANSIart screen by @codefenix has been patiently waiting a very long time for us to get around to releasing our next video games-themed artpack, but other themes somehow keep getting in the way. In the meantime, however, #Metroid turns 40 today, so we can't not share this portrait of #Samus in the #ZeroSuit! The galaxy is at peace.

Mistirgam: our unthemed MIST0823 artpack collection, released three years ago this month, was assembled in the immediate wake of the death of #PaulReubens aka #PeeWeeHerman, and we scrambled to cobble together a small tribute to his #PeeWeesPlayhouse oeuvre. Cthulu dashed off this super smallscale #ANSIart rendition of #Jambi the genie (RIP #JohnParagon also!) turning his wish-endowing chant into a Mistigris (well... Histigris) promo of sorts.
