Here Cthulu has (with great difficulty) adapted to #ANSIart Bob Barner's doodly cover artwork to #DavidHAhl's seminal 101 #BASIC Computer Games, a 1973 volume of fun #typein code listings published by the Digital Equipment Corporation.

When most people think about the classic BBS door game Barren Realms Elite, they probably remember the drippy logo from John Dailey's 1999 release.
But, in fact, BRE went through *many* different title screens during the years it was under active development by its creator, Mehul Patel.

For the last 25 years, Barren Realms Elite (BRE) has been frozen in amber, with the same ANSI title screen.
But it was preceded by _lots_ of other designs from 1992-97.

Mistodon: this #ANSIart screen by AdeptApril is the first file to appear, alphabetically, in the new books-themed MIST0426 artpack, so it is also the first individual work from that collection that we will profile. On request from Zeromous, it is an adaptation of the front cover to #CliffordStoll's 1989 hacker bestseller #TheCuckoosEgg .

(The mutual appreciation society continued below, where ConsoleJockey drew a reciprocal tribute to LDA! But we only have so much screen space to work with here, so stay tuned.)
