Teil 3: Der Endgegner Gaming 🎮
Digitale Souveränität ist wichtig, aber der Spaß darf nicht auf der Strecke bleiben. Ich bin auch Gamer. WoW, D4, Anno 117 – das ist mein Feierabend-Yoga.
Der Wechsel zu Linux brachte hier die größte Hürde: Meine Nvidia RTX 2060.
Unter Linux (speziell bei einem Rolling Release wie Tumbleweed) ein ständiger Kampf. Proprietäre Treiber, schwarze Bildschirme nach Kernel-Updates, Gefrickel. 🤯
Es fühlte sich an, als würde die Hardware gegen das Betriebssystem arbeiten.
Die Lösung war radikal, aber konsequent: Hardware-Tausch.
Raus mit der Nvidia, rein mit einer AMD Radeon 6800.
Der Unterschied? Tag und Nacht. ☀️
Dank der offenen Mesa-Treiber läuft die Karte "out of the box". Kein Treiber-Voodoo mehr. Lutris an, spielen.
Sogar Blizzard-Titel laufen jetzt butterweich.
Lektion gelernt: Echte Unabhängigkeit braucht manchmal auch die passende Hardware.

Hat jemand von euch die Kombination #Anno117 per Ubisoft Connect und #Arch Linux zum laufen zu bekommen? #Lutris hat zwar Ubisoft connect zum laufen bekommen aber Das Spiel stürzt kurz nach dem Cloud-Sync beim Start ab und returned still zum Launcher. Diverse Proton-Versionen und Umgebungsvariablen wurden durchprobiert.
Kennt jemand das Problem?

2. tryb dowolny to... te same dwie mapy - ta gra az prosi sie o jakis randomizer, czyli mechanizm generowania mapy z losowo rozmieszczonymi wyspami, zasobami, itp., cos jak #CitiesSkylines - nope, nic z tych rzeczyWskutek obu wad bardzo szybko wypala sie zainteresowanie gierka - przejdziesz kampanie, albo stwierdzisz, ze z jakiegos innego powodu nie chcesz w nia juz grac, odpalasz tryb dowolny - i fun z gierki znika jeszcze szybciej.
Rozumiem, ze komus sie podoba np. rozwijanie miasta na jednej wyspie w nieskonczonosc - spoko, szanuje, dla mnie niestety czar prysl.

Da ich #Anno1800 inzwischen halb tot gespielt habe und mir #Anno117 frühstens 1 Jahr nach Release hole (weil Ubisoft sales, erste wichtige DLCs da, etc.) hab ich mal mit #Tropico6 angefangen.
Auch wenn sich das WIRKLICH ähnlich ist, sind die logistischen Herausforderungen doch grundlegend andere. Schöne Abwechslung.

Those of you waiting for Anno 117: Pax Romana might be interested in knowing that it seems to work on Bazzite. At least I managed to play the demo yesterday, by forcing Proton Experimental. The game did seem to "hang" on every single launch screen, but just closing it and restarting made it continue on to the next - until you could get in-game.
While playing, I noticed no issues whatsoever.

The demo of #Anno117 felt very Anno-y and familiar, not much new apart from the pesky bottom menu that I did really not like. I love the new blueprint style, though.
Solid, familiar, but not overwhelming and missing some oomph - and Enya.
Curious what they'll add for the launch.

Ich habe mir die Tage ein #PC in #Frankfurt bei #Arlt zusammenbauen lassen - mit Gehäuse (ohne -LED-Flackern). Zu Hause geschaut, gelesen und dann mit dem Wunschzettel zu Arlt.
Ein paar Wünsche mussten vor Ort korrigiert/ergänzt werden - wegen Kompatibilität, Platzmangel und anderen Geschichten. Jetzt kann man ganz bequem Teile austauschen, andere hinzufügen und die Wärme kann entspannt entfleuchen.
Und es ist kaum ein Flüstern des Lüfters zu hören. Auch nicht mit Anno 1404. Und da hat die alte Kiste, mit einer RTX 3050, ganz schön mit den bevorzugten Grafikeinstellungen gepustet (mehr an Power war wegen Platzmangel nicht möglich). Mit der Grafikkarte davor, eine GTX 1050TI, war gar nix zu wollen. Abstürze waren die Regel, wenn es in Richtung "Stadt/Metropole" ging und ich mir das Treiben anschauen wollte. Der Wechsel Fern -Nah-Fern hat es dann auf seine Weise geregelt.
Jetzt ist alles easy und das neue #anno117 in Sichtweite. Mal schauen … dort gibt es wenigstens keine 90° Eisenbahnkurven. 🤪
