"Listen" is a song recorded by American singer #Beyoncé. The song was written by Beyoncé, #HenryKrieger, #ScottCutler and #AnnePreven, and produced by #TheUnderdogs, Matt Sullivan and Randy Spendlove for the 2006 musical film Dreamgirls, in which Beyoncé's character Deena Jones sings the song in an expression of independence from her controlling husband.

"Torn" is a song written by #ScottCutler, #AnnePreven—who composed all of the lyrics—and #PhilThornalley in 1991 as a solo song for Preven. It was recorded and performed live during this period, but not given its first formal release until 1993, when #Danish singer #LisSørensen released the song in Danish under the title "Brændt" ([pʁænˀt], meaning 'burnt'). Cutler and Preven formed an #alternativeRock band, #Ednaswap, in 1993.
