What does the #bible (📖) actually say about watching #anime (🎨) and #cartoons (🎨)? or #movies (🎨) in general. Believe it or not anime and cartoons generally might be ok to watch for #entertainment purposes under #Christianity.

one things for sure, #idolatry is one of the big #sins (🚫), mentioned in the #10commandments. Try not to make an #idol out of 🎨 and not look to them as above god (🌥️). (one way to know if you're not doing this (idolatry) is if you can spare maybe 5 minutes to silent prayer to #god 🌥️ or aloud if you'd prefer. Daily.

#Witchcraft and etc featured in #animes and #cartoons

A lot of 🎨 feature spells, magic, magic abilities, and 'special moves' among other super natural abilities.

Since it is presented in a fantasy art context, if you're just watching something like #SabrinatheTeenagewitch :

I'd ague that it's safe to watch as a Christian because you're not actually practicing any of it in real life just from watching a cartoon meant for entertainment and some life lessons delivered through the shows, additionally each cartoon and anime make up there own fictional world based spells such as the Sonic Spin dash. Can humans even do the Spindash at will?

One aspect of cartoons I would be wary of is content, but in a cartoony/ entertainment perspective, consuming fake witchcraft without the purpose or encouragement of actually going to the "doing" part of it, I believe is actually safe to watch and not a sin.

Swearing and 18+ content

Any #cartoons that may swear, present characters in 18+ nsfw situations, any thing that might bring unease from watching it. Think of #zombie jump scares in rated r movies and the gore presented in a lot of those types of movies.

In context, Scooby Doo I believe would be ok to watch for brief, with a non idolatry mindset. Does it feature some imaginary monsters and ghosts yes, but it's clearly fake, and these ghosts and monsters are litteral unmasked so even in Scooby Doo they aren't always presented as real spirits, and is for entertainment and quick laughs and is generally family friendly. However not always, modern cartoons a making adult versions of older kids shows and pushing the boundaries.

A 🎨 like Resident evil, might bring some unease to some and bring down some viewers spirits, or even prevent them from sleeping at night.

Five nights at Freddy's despite it's 'basic' jump scares isn't as uneasing as Gorey screens and arguably any frightening impact is minimal from a non gory jump scare because the scare only lasts at the moment and not beyond.

Psalm 101:3 states, "I will not set before my eyes anything that is worthless". This highlights the importance of avoiding media that can lead to moral compromise or spiritual decline.

Remember the 📖 does not ban you from watching cartoons or doing anything other then being with God🌥️. Otherwise friends or marriage would be a 🚫. However the content in theses media, in the context of the 📖 , is very important to consider. Particularly gore and and 18+ content in media. Media can morph a persons mind and life choices decisions.

However if you're not married then having simple crushes on multiple characters on media I don't think would be a 🚫 because adultery seems to only apply after you're married if you're not then it doesn't seem to apply to you yet as a sin untill after the fact. Be honest with yourself.

Hi all! My name is Jeff, and I'm #softwareDeveloper and #maker in the process of relocating to #NewZealand.

My journey through social media started with Bulletin Board Systems (#BBS) & #IRC, through LiveJournal, to Facebook, an enjoyable stint in G+, back to Facebook, and now Mastodon. Ironically I never really got into Twitter, which I understand Mastadon aims to replace.

In my career I've worked on incredibly interesting projects like full scale helicopter simulators, small drone (#sUAS) control systems, and signal jamming technologies. I've worked with #C++ , #CSharp, #Python, #LabView.

But what I'm most proud of has been my time volunteering for a local charity I helped found, #MakersLocal256. This #makerspace was the first in #Alabama, has been around for over 15 years, and has survived on a "pay what you can" system. Our goal was and is to make available tools and technologies to those who either can afford it better together, or simply don't have the space for something like a gigantic #laserCutter. I've learned and taught equipment there such as #3DPrinters, #soldering, #embedded projects, #IoT, #lathes, #welding, #leatherWorking, #HamRadio and #cyberSecurity.

I've served #ML256 as both their Treasurer using systems like #GnuCash, and as a #systemsAdministrator using technologies including #Proxmox, #VMWare, #Redmine, #Owncloud, #ZoneMinder

As a hobbyist I run my own #homelab including this instance of Mastadon, #Plex, #mqtt, #proxmoxBE

My other hobbies include #cooking, with a focus on #sousVide and #cajun food, collecting #puzzleBoxes .
I consume large amounts of #Sci-Fi television, #anime, and have a weakness for paranormal teenage drama series like #vampireDiaries and now some soul rotting show called #FateWinxSaga. They're just so awful I can't stop watching.

In my youth I attended a #boardingSchool called #ASMS before Dumbledore made them cool. We had a cheerleading team for our chess team, it was baller. Our headmaster was from #NewZealand, and we plan to catch up once we get settled in.

My wife of eight years and I met in college, and has been my best friend, travel companion, taste tester, and cheerleader. She's an amazing #cosplay artist from Tennessee who has crafted #yukatas #kimonos, outfits from #animes, and so much more.
Her Londo Mallari from #Babylon5 is still the highest rated post of all time in r/Babylon5.

As her handler I end up going to many of her competitions and events, our favorite being #DragonCon . As a reward for being her personal slave, I earn cosplay points, which I save up and cash in on requests. The most memorable is when I asked to be a #sandworm from #Dune. She built a 14 meter worm in the style of a Chinese dragon. It takes eight people to pilot, has been in three parades, two with Kevin J. Anderson leading our path. She carries the 16 kilogram head, with me as her second in line. It's been featured in #MakeMagazine and has been used for a movie premier at a local theatre.

Well, that's me :) I don't intend on writing posts this long going forward, and honestly this felt like writing a CV. But hell, if you're gunna do, do it up.
