Why the Moral Code was put into place on Earth

The moral code ensures that dragons do not commit mass murder on humans and other species. It can be considered a curse, causing psychic damage should a dragon end up harming a human. This was put into place after scores of humans died by draconic claws. It started with Kohri and Belleu and escalated from there.

A big, muscular dragon named Belleu fell in love with an ancient human. Belleu stopped spending time with his family as he spent more time with the human and her clan. His brother Kohri got mad and after years he finally confronted him. Kohri went on a rant about how the dragon left the pack. Kohri is a poisonous dragon, so he decided “I’ll show you how precious your pets really are” and he went on a killing spree. Belleu was able to stop Kohri but many humans were already dead.

Kohri spread lies that humans were free food created by Morcudii and her assistants. He kept repeating this lie and would speak it like as if it were fact. Many dragons brushed him off at first. He kept repeating it and told compelling stories. His evidence would be fake logs whose authenticity was hard to verify with just eyes.

A band of dragons who wanted free food helped him spread these lies. Eventually, more and more dragons fell for it and would eat humans.

After, dragons began hunting humans for sport while humans hunted dragons for food. Eventually there was a great loss of human life, which Morcudii (her body now elderly) saw as a loss for the Empire.

Angered at the senseless killing and hunting for sport, she enacted rules for the “stupid earth dragons” to follow. She stated, “as far as I know, other planets didn’t have this problem. It is shameful that this is happening on earth.”

Her rules were put in place and breaking them was a punishment of death or being sent to roast in a cold star (or in the sun, for more cold-inclined dragons).

She stated, “humans are to grow, and we are to shepherd them along this process.”

However, she was presented with reports from other dragon-owned planets with varying degrees of loss of life. She saw the violent tendencies and bloodshed in the wake of the wyrms.

Everywhere they go, there is a chance—not a certainty—of bloodshed occurring after full draconic control.

Her rules were enforced in every planet, with the empire’s core values, “conquer and control. Breed and integrate. Harm, not kill. Spread the draconian species” being enforced even harder for the sake of ‘newer species of dragons and ensuring the eternal continuation of our species.’

What happened to Kohri and Belleu?

Eventually, Kohri finally took a human form. His curiosity got the better of him. He kept to himself for a while, surviving in forests or, if he were traveling the desert, living at an oasis. His travels took him into Persia. He slowly entered human society by stealing their food and selling items he found on his travels. He even sold a few of his scales to afford a small house.

Kohri learned human laws and customs by interacting with them, and eventually became fluent in human society. He did find someone to love. A lady who dreamed of being a warrior. Kohri trained her and sparred with her every day. He told her, “I never thought a human would best me in battle.” He was enthusiastic every time they’d have practice.

When war came in the form of Phillip II’s Macedonian army, Kohri assumed dragon form and vowed to protect his home. With his lady, they rode into battle on dragonback. Kohri set fire to Phillip, the leader, and the Macedonians were forced into retreat. However, it was not the last he’d see of them.

They returned with Alexander at the helm. He targeted Kohri specifically, and his portions of his arm for surprise attack. Kohri forced his lady to flee, and then he set fire to some of the soldiers, but found himself bound at the maw, tripped onto his back and subsequently had his limbs torn apart. Meanwhile, the rest of the conquest continued. Kohri was taken as a prize. It’s hard to find any records of his escape, but scattered stories and reports say he was seen flying over Thebes three years after his capture.

He is survived by his descendants whom he sired with the lady.

Belleu had a happier time. He also assumed human form and traveled though north and west Africa. He settled in Mali where he created his own family and studied the Muslim faith. As a dragon, he used his strength and abilities to assist the locals in their everyday lives. His presence attracted more dragons, and the ones who took human guises were compelled to reveal themselves.

He had contact with Mali’s numerous rulers. He accompanied Mansa Musa on his pilgrimage to Mecca. He had to carry some gold, which he complained about for the first few days, but that wore off when he saw the different human societies and different Crotonian and dragon species living within.

Belleu and his family stayed with the Malinese emperors, and were even advisors in some of their situations. Although, Belleu always tries to take the pacifist route with political dealings. His son? Eh…

Dragons randomly finding things on the street

What’s the best thing you’ve ever found randomly on the street?

Today’s Dragon Street Talk is small because of the tiny probability of this happening. Let’s hear what they say.

Arensio

I found a $20 bill once. It was blowing away in the wind so I chased after it. Never seen anything like that ever again.

Ethanel

This is a little embarrassing but I found a blunt on the sidewalk in my hood. Yea, I smoked it.

Interviewer: oh… oh nooo that’s not…

Rin

I found a Stitch toy. Don’t know who dropped it but I took it with me, put it in the backseat seat of my dad’s car, buckled it in, took it home and washed it. I gave it deep clean too to cleanse the stuffing with water. No telling where it came from. It might’ve come from a trap house full of STDs.

Interviewer: that’s a horribly wild imagination you have.

Rin: I know.

Art: tearzah

Rin art: me

The kindest thing anyone has done for a dragon

What’s the kindest thing someone has ever done for you?

On today’s episode of Dragon Street Talk, we ask dragon shifters what is the kindest thing anyone has ever done for them. Let’s hear what they had to say.

Arensio

The kindest thing anyone ever did was let me have their Nintendo Switch. I couldn’t afford one, so the guy in front of me gave me his. He had already purchased it. He said “I can buy one next month. You take it.”

No stipulations, no sexual favors, no payment plans. Nothing. It was absolutely free. I love that dude 🥹

Rin

When I first started working, many people wanted to try me. Agent A kept them all at bay by pretending to act like me and call himself ‘a better product.’

I thought he was being a cocky snobby twat, but when I got older I realized he was protecting me for as long as he could. He made sure I got used to the environment before he let me take on any customers.

I love him 😔 rest in peace Big A. The streets will remember your real name. I’ll make sure of it.

Ethanel

I got dumped at a restaurant and my date left before helping me pay the tab. The waiter told the cook and they agreed to let me go. I was so happy. I paid it back later.

Ada Elisondottir

When I was opening my salon, I couldn’t afford the chairs. some folks got together and raised money so I could buy some new chairs. Humans are so wonderful. I love them all! They all became my regular customers too.

And then… the war happened… and uh… well. They’re all destroyed now :’))))
