Reminds me of the approach taken by @polavieja where instead of tracking individual zebrafish, they identified each fish by their unique stripe patterns in each video frame, overcoming the hard occlusion problem in 2D video of animals moving in a 3D environment.

One of my favourite ways to relax is to find and identify animal tracks. I live near a small nature reserve and on one of my recent walks my friends and I found this beautiful beaver track. You can see the trace of its tail in the sand and the paw prints next to it. The beaver probably walked back across the beach to its watershed.
