I wondered why there was so much #water in the street when driving home even when it wasn't pissing down (assuming #drains were blocked due to #weather ), now #AnglianWater has taken up half the road to investigate a burst main (at least there is still water at the taps in my house)

#AnglianWater were fixing a burst pipe in the next village and in doing so have cracked the high pressure gas main - apparently #Cadent (who got multiple calls) are now on site repairing this but there will be a smell of gas in the general area for the rest of the day..

Our local lake in Bedford, a wildlife haven used by many to exercise, walk their dogs, fish and paddle in, reeked of effluent, covered in blue green algae a few weeks back. 😢

‘Affinity Water appears to have the biggest PFAS problem, with 73 raw water samples above the maximum DWI limits at five sites, followed by Anglian Water with 22 raw samples above the limit from two groundwater sources, according to a DWI report. Southern Water found two samples at or above the top limit in its treated water’

Another day and I wonder again just how safe is #AnglianWater to drink? This time it’s forever chemicals.

After being told that "cleaned water" has been recycled into the #RiverCam testing has shown that "#Phosphate level is massively higher than the acceptable maximum and is stifling the #River. Often agriculture is blamed but in this case it is clearly related to sewage. This points to serious neglect by #AnglianWater and the #EnvironmentAgency (EA).."

Given the very heavy downpours we’ve seen this week, it got me wondering how much #sewage have the water companies released into our rivers and onto our coastlines on the UK?

Will they claim they had no choice, their infrastructure is not up to spec or just try and make us think it is a natural process?

Have my local water company, #AnglianWater learnt anything from the biggest fine ever 2 weeks ago? (still peanuts compared to the devastation they’ve caused)
