Finding it very telling that, when I look on #Fediverse / #Mastodon, I see a broad range of responses to #AngelaCarini's reaction to her sudden loss to #ImaneKhelif. Sure you have people calling her a sore loser and demanding she apologized more, but plenty of people are pointing out that she didn't do anything wrong and had no idea this could even happen when she had her moment of anguish at realizing she had lost at the Olympics, and many are even pointing out that she's technically a victim here too, because now she's having the worst day of her life mass broadcasted by racists and chauvinists.
Meanwhile, when I go look at #Twitter (AKA #X), it's just a sea of hate: people who hate a non-white cisgender woman for beating white women in a sport, and people who hate an Italian athlete for reacting to physical and emotional pain.
It really shows you the stark contrast between the two #SocialMedia networks.
