  1. Apologies for sharing a link to Facebook - I've not seen this elsewhere!

Andy Goldsworthy talking about his plans for the works which were in his wonderful show last year.

  2. Rivers and Tides- Andy Goldsworthy

  3. Walking through the avenue of branches at the fascinating - if somewhat pricey - Andy Goldsworthy exhibition at the RSA.

I liked this installation, to me it suggested some religious, ritual path from our ancient pagan history, when spirituality was more tied to Earth cycles.

Or a setting for a British folk-horror! The two are not incompatible 😀

  4. The Andy Goldsworthy show was even better than I’d hoped. The transcendent hewn from ephemerality, from decay, from instability and insecurity. I was really struck by the clear and urgent sense that some of his work will outlast us all, and some of it will fade in the autumn’s gloom. There are so many things I want to say about this show, but not enough words (or at least I don’t have the words!).

  5. I’m *finally* off to see the #AndyGoldsworthy exhibition Fifty Years at the RSA this morning. I’d wanted to wait until the crowds of the various Edinburgh Fesitivals died down a little (at least relatively-speaking for the city!).

Rather excited, and it feels like a very nice way to start my new non-working day Mondays.

  6. Last exhibition/art recommendation (for now!). Andy Goldsworthy at the National Galleries at the Mound (Edinburgh). A must see... although I'd hoped there would be more photos of his larger outdoor stone installations. I'll still definitely go again though!

  8. The Andy Goldsworthy exhibit at the National Gallery in Edinburgh was amazing. The new Oak Passage, and the hanging bullrushes (pictured) are especially transcendent

  11. Last week I paid a visit to Andy Goldsworthy's Prairie Cairn. I was on a botanical tour of the prairie area, and I think I was the only one who stopped and looked at the art. #AndyGoldsworthy #Prairie #Sculpture

  12. Here is a post I wrote years ago about #andygoldsworthy who is an artist who works with nature. I love his way of working and, of course, the resulting works and here is a link to it:

  13. So much of my lifelong relationship to art and aesthetic can be understood as me trying to recapture some of the big feels I had the first time I watched Rivers & Tides, the Andy Goldsworthy doc.

  16. Visiting Storm King

We took a little day trip up to Storm King with some friends this past weekend on the most terrifyingly summery day of Autumn.
B seemed to love it. Of what we saw, I think that Calder’s The Arch and Noguchi’s Momo Taro were his favorites. I think he was just bowled over by the scale of The Arch, every time he saw it on the horizon he shouted…
