Lembra quando a Google lançou Chromecast (software e hardware)? Pois é. Ainda existe Chromecast nos aparelhos com Android/Google TV, ainda existem aplicativos compatíveis com Chromecast no app Google TV do Android.
Mas se quiser transmitir a tela inteira do seu celular, tem que usar aplicativo de terceiros porque a própria Google não faz isso mais.

Google continue de crapifier l'interface d'android tv.
Sur notre mibox viennent d'apparaitre des éléments publicitaires pour les services de VOD de google. Ils sont impossibles à supprimer/cacher.
Est il possible, comme sur un smartphone android, de remplacer facilement le launcher d'android tv ?

@meldrian bei mir war die kürzliche Anschaffung einer #AndroidTV Box der Auslöser, endlich ein #Pihole fürs ganze Haus zu installieren und nicht nur auf dem Desktop und auf dem Smartphone zu filtern. Bisher bin ich zufrieden, läuft ohne Googlekonto, per Sideload bekommt man alternative Appstores und #Smartube drauf und Pihole filtert Tracker und Werbung in den Streamingdiensten.

Gemini wchodzi na pierwszy plan. Google TV z dużą aktualizacją i nowym podejściem do treści
Google zaczyna realizować swoją wizję telewizora jako aktywnego centrum wiedzy i rozrywki. Po zapowiedzi podczas targów CES w styczniu, Gemini dla Google TV otrzymuje właśnie pierwszą dużą aktualizację, która wyraźnie zmienia sposób interakcji użytkownika z ekranem.
Nowości obejmują nie tylko bardziej eksponowane miejsce dla asystenta, ale przede wszystkim znacznie bogatsze, wizualne odpowiedzi i nowe formaty treści – w tym skróty sportowe i interaktywne materiały edukacyjne.
Najbardziej widoczna zmiana dotyczy samego interfejsu. Dotychczas Gemini było ukryte w górnym pasku obok wygaszacza i ustawień, co w praktyce ograniczało jego użyteczność. Teraz Google przenosi zakładkę „Gemini” w jedno z najbardziej eksponowanych miejsc – do głównego menu, obok sekcji Home, Live i Apps. To jasny sygnał: asystent AI przestaje być dodatkiem, a staje się integralną częścią doświadczenia Google TV.
Odpowiedzi wielomodalne
Jednak prawdziwa rewolucja dzieje się w sposobie prezentowania odpowiedzi. Gemini przestaje odpowiadać wyłącznie tekstem, a zaczyna korzystać z pełnego potencjału dużego ekranu. Zapytania użytkownika mogą teraz skutkować mieszanką wideo, grafik i informacji kontekstowych. W praktyce oznacza to, że pytając o wydarzenia sportowe, zobaczymy nie tylko wynik, ale też dynamiczną kartę meczu i informacje o tym, gdzie można obejrzeć transmisję. Z kolei przepisy kulinarne zostaną wzbogacone o materiały wideo pokazujące kolejne etapy przygotowania potrawy.
Google idzie jednak o krok dalej, rozwijając funkcję tzw. „deep dives”, czyli pogłębionych, interaktywnych materiałów edukacyjnych. Użytkownik może przejść od prostego zapytania do pełnego, narracyjnego wyjaśnienia tematu – wzbogaconego o wizualizacje i kolejne pytania prowadzące. Tego typu treści obejmują szeroki zakres tematów, od zdrowia i technologii po ekonomię, i mają zamienić bierne oglądanie w aktywne poznawanie. W praktyce telewizor zaczyna przypominać interaktywną platformę edukacyjną, a nie tylko ekran do konsumowania treści.
Coś dla miłośników sportu
Nowością są także tzw. sports briefs, czyli krótkie, narracyjne podsumowania wydarzeń sportowych. Funkcja rozwija znany już format news briefs i kierowana jest do użytkowników, którzy nie mają czasu śledzić meczów na żywo. Gemini przygotuje skróty spotkań, najważniejsze momenty oraz aktualności dotyczące zawodników i lig. Na start wsparcie obejmuje m.in. NBA, NHL, MLB, MLS czy rozgrywki akademickie NCAA.
Aktualizacja z bogatszymi odpowiedziami wizualnymi trafia już do użytkowników w Stanach Zjednoczonych i Kanadzie, natomiast funkcje takie jak deep dives i sports briefs są stopniowo udostępniane na kompatybilnych urządzeniach. Google zapowiada, że w kolejnych miesiącach Gemini dla Google TV trafi także na nowe rynki, w tym Australię, Nową Zelandię i Wielką Brytanię.
Całość wpisuje się w szerszy trend, w którym telewizor przestaje być biernym ekranem, a staje się inteligentnym interfejsem do wiedzy i rozrywki. Google wyraźnie pokazuje, że chce, aby czas spędzony przed telewizorem był nie tylko relaksem, ale również formą interaktywnego doświadczenia.

Habe gestern Abend nochmal auf dem #pihole ins Log geschaut.
Das Drecksding liegt seither ausgeschaltet, komplett stromlos, im Schrank.
Also die AndroidTV-Box, nicht der Pihole 😉
Selbst abgeschaltet, also im Standby, hat die Gurke gefunkt ... in was für technisch beschissenen Zeiten wir doch leben.
Naja. Wie so oft, schade um die Hardware.
Eigentlich ein schöner kleiner Formfaktor wenn denn das System nicht so verhurzt wäre. -
Peertube wird ja zum Glück immer populärer. Podcaster, Comedians etc. hosten Ihre eigenen Instanzen um Ihren Content auch abseits von Bigtech ausspielen zu können.
Da ist es besonders schade das es keine native Android TV Applikation für Peertube gibt.
Wenn Ihr das auch denkt dann geht doch mal auf die Ideen PLatform von Framasoft und sagt Ihnen was Ihr so darüber denkt.

@ct_3003_team Wer ohne #BigTech einen komfortablen Streaming-Client sucht, dem sei die Magenta-TV-Box empfohlen. Ja, das Teil läuft mit Android TV, ABER es besteht kein Zwang sich mit einem Google-Konto dort anzumelden! Ich konnte keine nennenswerten Einschränkungen feststellen. Selbst die Sprachbedienung funktioniert ohne Login.

I installed @fdroidorg on my Android Google TV.
But somehow the fdroid app is never shown in the app overview, even if I use "app only mode".
Is there any trick to change that?

I bought a Xiaomi Streaming Box S. It comes with tons of bloatware preinstalled.
Not being allowed to uninstall the bloatware is annoying, but much worse is the bad caricature of a launcher it ships with.

Not only can it uninstall all apps, after installing another launcher (e.g. FLauncher), one can use it to disable the original:

Sick and tired of your Android TV set top box filling your house with unrequested billboard advertising?
Install Projectivity Launcher as the default launcher app and banish advertising out of sight forever.
I've had it installed on the big TV in the media room for the better part of a week and it's been great. My main swim lane is Jellyfin, S'Tube, F1 TV, Gem, Telus TV+, and that's pretty much it. All the apps seem to work fine with Projectivity as a launcher.
I installed from the G Play store but maybe check if it's in Fdroid or Aptoide or your other favourite.
I still want to build a custom Linux based STB but this app knocks it down the to do list a few hundred places. Ha.
