    Kiedy ostatnio aktualizacja systemu w telefonie naprawdę zmieniła sposób, w jaki z niego korzystasz? Jeśli musisz się chwilę zastanowić, nie jesteś sam.

    Google zdaje się to rozumieć i kończy z fetyszyzacją corocznych „wielkich premier”, przechodząc na model ciągłej ewolucji.

    Damien Wilde z serwisu 9to5Google stawia tezę, że rok 2026 może być początkiem „złotej ery” Androida, ale w zupełnie nowym wydaniu. Zamiast jednej, wielkiej rewolucji raz do roku, czeka nas era mniejszych, ale znacznie częstszych usprawnień.

    Powrót do przeszłości: Model „x.1”

    Grudniowy „Pixel Drop” z 2025 roku był symbolicznym kamieniem milowym – to czwarty rok funkcjonowania tzw. kwartalnych wydań platformy (Quarterly Platform Releases), które powoli wypierają tradycyjny cykl wydawniczy. Google zdaje się wracać do modelu znanego z przeszłości (lub z ekosystemu Apple), czyli aktualizacji typu „x.1”. Zamiast czekać 12 miesięcy na nowe funkcje, użytkownicy Pixeli otrzymują je w regularnych odstępach. To strategia „małych kęsów” zamiast „wielkiej uczty” raz w roku, co dla końcowego użytkownika jest po prostu zdrowsze i ciekawsze.

    AI ważniejsze od numerka systemu

    Drugim powodem śmierci „wielkich aktualizacji” jest sztuczna inteligencja. Marketing Google’a w 2025 roku niemal całkowicie zignorował „czystego Androida” na rzecz promowania Gemini. Powód jest prozaiczny: funkcje AI, takie jak Gemini Live, działają w chmurze. Nie potrzebują nowej wersji jądra systemu, by działać. Dopóki twoja aplikacja AI jest aktualna, masz dostęp do nowości, nawet na starszym oprogramowaniu (oczywiście w granicach rozsądku). Rozwój AI jest po prostu zbyt szybki, by czekać na roczny cykl wydawniczy Androida.

    Android Canary: poligon dla odważnych

    Google wprowadziło też nowe narzędzie, które ma przyspieszyć rozwój platformy – program Android Canary. Działa on na tej samej zasadzie, co w przeglądarce Chrome: to wersja „bleeding edge”, poligon doświadczalny, gdzie nowe funkcje trafiają niemal natychmiast, często w stanie surowym i niestabilnym. 9to5Google sugeruje (ale i my w naszej redakcji skłaniamy się do tej hipotezy), że Canary jest naturalnym krokiem w obliczu powolnego odchodzenia Chrome OS w „korporacyjny niebyt” i nadchodzącej, desktopowej wersji Androida. Program ten pozwala na szybkie testowanie funkcji na szerokiej grupie użytkowników, zanim trafią one do stabilnych wydań Beta.

    Bezpieczeństwo to osobny temat

    Nowy model wymusza też znacznie częstsze aktualizacje bezpieczeństwa. O ile nowe funkcje mogą spływać w różnym tempie, o tyle łatanie dziur i ochrona przed malwarem pozostaje kluczowa – zwłaszcza w tańszych telefonach, które producenci często porzucają na pastwę losu po kilku miesiącach od premiery.

    Wniosek? Android w 2026 roku nie będzie już systemem, na którego nową wersję czekamy z wypiekami na twarzy. Będzie platformą, która zmienia się płynnie i niezauważalnie w tle. Aktualizacja przestaje być wydarzeniem, staje się ciągłym procesem.

    Koniec irytującego znikania. Gemini na Androidzie wreszcie pozwoli na prawdziwy multitasking
