Alec Guiness, David Lean – „Die Brücke am Kwai“ (1957)
Ein Film, der sich bis heute jeder einfachen Einordnung entzieht. Kein unpolitisches Kriegsabenteuer, keine historische Rekonstruktion, sondern eine minutiöse Studie über Stolz, Pflicht und die Absurdität militärischer Logik. Schon in der ersten Szene, in der britische Soldaten in ein japanisches Kriegsgefangenenlager geführt werden, ist die doppelte Dimension zu spüren: eine strenge Ordnung, subtile Machtmechanismen, die Menschen zerstören können. Anders als in klassischen Flucht- oder Abenteuerfilmen wird die Brücke nicht zur Begründung der Handlung, sondern viel mehr zum Symbol der Unterwerfung unter Systeme, die nicht kontrollierbar sind. #WordWeavers 16 — How long is your shortest work?
I've been incredibly busy lately, but I just wanted to answer this prompt. It's fascinating to me, honestly. I loved reading everyone's responses.
I have two short stories that I can think of at the moment. I've written tons, but hey. Ironically, both of these are Sherlock Holmes-related (and for Irene and Sherlock to boot). They were written yeaaars apart from each other.

Another case is solved, this one with the help of Miss Adler. Baker Street is silent for a while, and Sherlock Holmes is more than grateful for her assistance. Confessions come to light in the aftermath.
