    I’m not usually a fan of “technical X metal” bands because I find that often technicality can sacrifice emotion. Also, it can be wildly pretentious. Not really the case here. It’s heavily technical, sure, but this music is laced with emotion. And it isn’t pretentious at all. I mean, there’s even a clarinet in there. And it works! I’m all for more woodwinds in metal.
