Terminus - Back Among The Blind
I first heard Terminus on a benefit compilation tape for the 1in12 club and loved them instantly. They became one of my favourite all time bands. I've got all their records.
They were a nice bunch of blokes from Scunthorpe and we played with them a few times.
Mark, who wrote the lyrics and sang, was aligned with the Anarchist-Communist Federation, understood his politics and wrote proper anarchist lyrics from a working class perspective, which stood out like a dog's balls from the trustafarian middle class crustie punk so popular at the time. We got on.
If I remember correctly, the bloke who played guitar on this album left to join a bhangra group. He was a very good guitarist.

hello #anarchism before i say anything lemme just say i am a BABY anarcho-communist from like 2 days ago so don't be mean to me. i'm currently still learning about it but i'm just ultra convinced by what i've read and seen so i decided to adopt the ideology. i make this post in search of chances to learn more

i know anarcho-communism advocates for the immediate abolition of the state but i think that's just super unrealistic. i agree it would be cool but practically that can't happen. communism can't be achieved like that
but i also think marxism-leninism and similar authoritarian "transitionary period" ideologies miss the mark because the state has too much power, including owning the means of production. i think ultimately if the point of anarchism is to take power away from the state then that can absolutely be done in a gradual manner, and i don't think that means it's not true anarchism
again ideologically yes the state should go away but currently i think it's impossible for that to just happen, and i think it's important to find ways to get there that aren't so unrealistic. we can have ideas and recognize that they aren't good in practice, then implement the next best thing
that being said like if the opportunity for true ideological anarchism presents itself and no one will get hurt then i would most definitely support that, i'm not saying it'd be bad. and hey maybe i'm wrong and it's entirely possible for that to happen

With workers rights you'll have to be more specific I'm an anarchist communist and think that all profit is theft - different people draw different lines on what kind of worker treatment they will accept

This has been on my mind a lot. I don't believe there's a dark secret class running society. It's just that humans are naturally bad at dealing with inequalities due to capitalism .

The workable long term future of this planet is either 100% nature, or some sort of #solarpunk / #anarchoCommunism and in either case, there will be plenty of work happily done by life in all its wonderful forms. patriarchy is just a blip on the radar. Wether that means the anthropocene will be a very short period is up to us.
@Geri I think you are thinking of Marxism-Leninism this is the common ideology that gets painted with a broad brush as "communism". Just because north korea calls itself democratic and hitlers regime "socialist" doesn't make it so. Likewise, the USSR and CCP are not and have never been communist.
Differences in ideology between Marxism-Leninism and Anarcho-Communism include whether or not they use the state the achieve their aims, whether the proletariat are organized horizontally or by vanguard party rule
Broadly speaking anarchists choose revolutionary strategies and tactics that are aligned with their stated goals whereas marxist leninists tend to use more ends justify the means thinking
Edit: I'm aware that ML's misinterpret marx in multiple areas and they use his name to self-label a kind of ideological lineage that is tenuous at best

Anarchism is the rejection of all authority here defined as the social construct of inherent right to be obeyed by designated inferiors.
Anarchism necessitates all the above qualifiers for communism, so in my view there is no anarchism that isn't also communist. But it also necessitates the dismantling of Human supremacy, state, patriarchy, ableism, sanism, white supremacy, cisheteromono-normativity, queermisia, sorry if I forgot anyone
And that gets into ideas from intersectional anarchism, veganarchism, anarcha-feminism, queer-anarchism, total liberation etc.

I know you don't believe in vanguardism or one party rule
As an anarchist I still disagree with syndicalism because its too focused on the worker identity and doesn't seem to say much about externalities like climate change or harm to non-human animals and it seems to center able-bodies neurotypical experience by default
Also the worker council owned factories in the USSR were quickly taken over by the central party which I think speaks to the inherently hierarchical concept of the firm
I do agree that workers shouldn't be coerced to conform to the authority of a planning council but I also think that the fundamental concept of self identifying as being a part of the firm before the commune is irrevocably adversarial

Abstract
In recent years, the discussion about economic concepts different from both capitalism and central planning has gotten more interest, new ideas emerged, and old ideas were rediscovered. This paper presents a modern version of the economic concept of anarcho-communist planning, originating from the late 19th century. The proposed idea is based on the needs of the people while respecting the planetary boundaries. It rejects ideas like markets, work remuneration, and money or other universal units of account. This paper first discusses the shortcomings of markets, central planning, and previous post-capitalist economic approaches like Parecon and Commons-based organizing from an anarcho-communist perspective. Then, it explains the concepts, required structures, and tools supporting the proposed anarcho-communist mode of economic planning in detail.
