We're launching a new shonen-jump style quarterly anthology magazine featuring comics, stories, and art from the world of community media and indie entertainment!
Long time fans might remember the magazine we produced for #analogrevolution which covered metro Atlanta music and culture for 18 issues.
We're reviving the spirit of that magazine, expanding our geographic scope and focusing in on the world of community media and indepdent entertainment.
Joyful Revolution magazine will be a free quarterly publication distributed in businesses, comic shops, record stores, cafes, and at conventions throughout the US. Each issue will showcase creator-owned stories, DIY toys, weird art, underground comics, and storytellers of all stripes who are building something real outside the corporate machine.
The Big Idea looks like this: All of us working in the independent entertainment, art toy, and DIY comic world are stronger together. None of us can compete with Hasbro or Disney on our own, but we don't have to.
This magazine is a platform where the underground can come aboveground, and where we can each introduce our stories to more people.
Whether you make comics in your garage, design limited-run vinyl toys, shoot no-budget films with your friends, or just create because you have to, we want to be on this journey with you.

So now I have to figure out what this means for #AnalogRevolution and #newellijaytelevision
I expect both to continue on. Analog might be a little quiet for a while, maybe with a renewed focus on print, our magazines, and journalism.
We have 4 LPs planned for release next year and I don't expect that to change. We'll probably not add any live shows, which is disappointing. I was hoping to do 12 - 24 live shows in 26, but both of my audio engineers are leaving.

I put most of my energy and time in to local music and news and entertainment and publishing becuase that's how we reach people, it's how we build communities, it's how we keep money and power and mindshare in our communities and out of the pockets of Billionaires.
That's why I built #newellijaytelevision and #AnalogRevolution and all the rest of the things I do.
That's why I'll spend three hours tomorrow finishing the setup of the #JupitersGhost tilde server and making accounts for interested parties.

Analog Revolution, our label, has over 15,000 plays on Bandcamp now. That's phenomenal! Over 10,000 of that is since I took the lead on running things in late 2021.
So much of our fanbase is here on the fediverse, and that means so much to me. I genuinely appreciate all of you. We couldn't do this without you.

I'm playing in a punk band now, but this EP is before I joined. I did mix it, however, and we released it on #AnalogRevolution !
Red Hot Empty is angry, driving, political punk. They're really tearing up the Metro Atlanta scene, and I'm thrilled to play with them.

Huh. Once again in fun bandcamp trends, "Devil's Gonna Git You" from our Revolting Music from the Public Domain album has a substantial number of plays organically. It's the number 1 played song of the past week! That's really interested to me, and it always surprises me what's trending with us.

😉Maybe @DoctorDeathray could fill us in. The artwork is badass and reminds me of the surrealism that inspired Animorphs! I recognize Pursey and maybe a few others.

Recording a couple of awesome musicians at this end of June, and then I hit the studio with the Implements of Destruction at the beginning of July!
Plus! The producing project I've got is going quite well, and I'm really thrilled with the last Put On a Show mix I'm finishing up. The next Put On a Show is tomorrow night, then playing at a Pride festival in Alabama on the 8th!
Work at the record pressing plant is going well, and we're working on some distribution models.
The latest Lightning Limited release from us at #AnalogRevolution is one of my favorite releases yet, and that's SMALL.
I'm editing the set down for our next Lightning Limited release, Pharmacy, while we're waiting for AR-006 to be pressed.
AR-006, our sixth vinyl release, is Michael Cera Palin, and the pre-order is absolutely killing it. I'm thrilled with it so far, and it's going to be this amazing splatter on clear.

We're almost four full months into 2024, and #AnalogRevolution has only had 2 days where we didn't have at least 1 organic listen on Bandcamp. The first quarter of this year was the best we've ever had in terms of listens!

All of the artists are people we're working with. Not all of their albums get us plays. MCP's Loose Ends of Act 1, for example. We're only releasing the vinyl. Honestly, if we were getting Michael Cera Palin kinda plays, that would boost things immensely.

Honestly, it's a really fun musical time right now.
Working on some mastering today for a client and some mixing for #AnalogRevolution Put On a Show series!
The Michael Cera Palin preorder is really killing the game. I think we're up to around 160 preorders? We were at half of that a few days ago.
The Implements of Destruction and I had a phenomenal practice yesterday. We're working on new material and getting ready for a show on Saturday!
A cassette we made for a client is released and doing well!
CassettesFor.Me has plans for the next few months (we're always looking for more artists if you want to send us something for our monthly cassette subscription service!)
I'm waiting on screen printing to release our next in the Lightning Limited LP series (it's one of my favorite bands, SMALL).
Someone just reached out to me about producing a zine to coincide with their album release.
Headed to the record pressing plant again this week to help run things over there.
I have more potential clients I'm talking to about mixing, producing, and mastering services!
Honestly, I'm incredibly fortunate these days, and I'm very happy.
I'm incredibly busy, but, I make time for the things I love to do.

After that we have another #AnalogRevolution artist, Red Hot Empty. We've just released a limited edition vinyl copy of their debut album, Corridors, with their first ever live set on the back. It's a great record, and I'm proud to have engineered it. Heavy, trashy, angry punk with massive political undertones.
When I first heard them, I knew I wanted to work with them. The punk kid in me screamed that I needed to get their stuff out the best that I could, and they absolutely deserve it.

I have a whole to-do list after listening to it on repeat. 😅
This will fit on one side of the cassette, which leaves Side B free for all of the original tracks without the dialogue and my screwing them up, lol. The intention is for people to make mixtapes and remixes of any and everything on the album.
The whole album will be releaded under a CC-BY-SA 4.0 creative commons license to enable this.
