this's been on my mind for a while; months back I casually asked my wife if she knew who Anaïs Nin was & her reaction was really interesting. she said she did but in a tone that was almost shocked or mildly offended that the name had come out of my mouth. it was a fascinating interaction. my only exposure to her was through film, I'm madly in love with Maria de Medeiros & she played Nin in the fantastic biopic Henry & June.
