We fled the tech talkers and went nearby for burritos, then down to the harbor to take tourist excursion boat out to #Anacapa Island.
That took about an hour to get out to the island, but worth it. Partway there, there was a stink of crude oil, seeping up from the seafloor.
The island looked very bare and bleak, treeless, inaccessible, without water. It looks so uninviting. But being an impossible place for many animals, makes it a good bird rookery.
On way back to #Ventura , we saw dolphins.

OK I'm actually planning a trip to the #ChannelIslands (off the coast of Santa Barbara)
I'm looking at #SantaCruzIsland definitely but there are two sides and trying to figure out if it would be silly to go two days in a row (day trips; I don't camp) for the two different sides.
There are two more islands I want to go to also: #Anacapa and #SantaRosaIsland
So I need to determine if 4 different day trips to islands (the ferry ranges from 1 1/4 hours to 2 1/2 hours each way depending on the island) over 5-6 days will get boring or if because I have books and love boats and islands and nature, it will be awesome. (I have to buy tickets ahead of time)
