  6. I'm reviewing the wip (novelx4) checking for pace and continuity & inevitably doing some edit-on-the-fly. The thing is complete but for a few chapters still to be filled in. I need to get a feel for the overall shape before I do that, hence a review.

    It's going well so far: no major problems; a few clarifications to add in and stuff like that. I'd like to add a bit more sparkle, though. Does anyone have magic wand I could borrow? 🌟 😁

  8. Hello #nlp #nlproc world: It's still the case that you should name the language you're working on. Without that, you might think you've made your claims sound more general, but in fact you've made them sound unsupported.

  9. My #PeerReview notes for the MS I'm reading include
    * “my name is Petitio Principii, you begged the question, prepare to die”
    * “xkcd285”
    * “one does not simply walk into an analysis”

    It's going to be a bit of a challenge to turn them into something actually constructive for the author before submitting 😬
